Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City spoke at the Conference.
With the distinct regional characteristics of the two regions, domestic and international tourism products have been formed.
After the severe impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, restoring tourism activities is the key goal of provinces and cities across the country. More than ever, tourism promotion linkages between localities need to be focused on and implemented effectively and practically.
Mr. Cuong said: "I welcome the efforts of the provinces, cities, tourism associations and tourism businesses in organizing the Mekong Delta Tourism Promotion and Advertising Conference in Da Nang City today."
Mr. Cuong hopes that tourism management agencies, service businesses, and tourism in the Central region and the Mekong Delta region will contribute ideas, propose cooperation ideas, share experiences and policies to create new, more diverse and unique tourism products, as well as jointly promote tourism development and exchange of visitors between the two regions.
“Da Nang City pledges to always support and also believes that local leaders present at today's event will create all favorable conditions for tourism businesses to connect, do business, and cooperate to develop the economy and tourism,” said Mr. Cuong.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged that although there is a lot of potential for tourism development, the development of tourism in the Mekong Delta has not been commensurate with its potential, the number of visitors and tourism revenue is still modest compared to other provinces, cities and regions in the country. Tourism promotion and advertising work still has limitations.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, it is hoped that in the coming time, tourists will choose the Mekong Delta as a tourist destination.
Therefore, the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta pay great attention to tourism promotion and connection with provinces and cities across the country, especially with the tourism market in the Central region, to link tourism development.
Currently, there are 2 airlines providing flights from Can Tho City to Da Nang City every day, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet, making the Mekong Delta closer to the provinces and cities of the Central region. This is a favorable condition for Mekong Delta tourism to connect the tourism market with the provinces and cities of the Central region.
“The provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta will create the most favorable conditions to welcome tourists and everyone should choose the Mekong Delta as a destination on their journey to the Southern region.
Through this Conference, the provinces and cities of the Central region and the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta will come closer together, coordinate and support each other in State management of tourism, regularly exchange and share information on tourism development between localities; link and cooperate in promoting and promoting tourism; connect and organize activities and events to promote and promote inter-regional tourism; have preferential policies and stimulate tourism between the Mekong Delta and the provinces and cities of the Central region to attract tourists," Mr. Thien said.
The conference received attention from leaders of provinces and cities as well as domestic tourism businesses.
