(Fatherland) - On February 21, the Da Nang Department of Tourism held a conference to disseminate the tourism situation, guide the implementation of the provisions of the Tourism Law and new related regulations for tourism service businesses in the city.
The conference aims to improve the quality of operations of tourism service businesses, tourist transportation, and tourist attractions in the city, ensuring business operations comply with legal regulations.
Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Culture and Information of districts; leaders of organizations and individuals operating in the field of tourism services: travel, tourism transportation, and tourist attractions.

According to Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, in recent times, although Da Nang Department of Tourism has regularly deployed and guided legal regulations through programs and documents of the tourism industry. However, there are still a number of units that do not fully understand the regulations on business activities, travel, guidance... up to now, many units have not deposited travel funds according to new regulations, have not submitted statistical reports; have not kept records; operated as travel agents but have not notified according to regulations; advertised business but have not been licensed for that scope of activities and more importantly, the current situation of fraud and property appropriation in the tourism sector, especially the form of online service booking fraud is increasing.
Therefore, through this conference, to ensure business compliance with regulations, Da Nang Department of Tourism requests directors/owners, managers, and representatives of businesses, tourism service establishments, and tourist destinations in the area to ensure full compliance with business conditions as prescribed; develop product programs that are suitable to the needs of the tourist market in the new context.
Along with that, ensuring the quality of service during the service process must be professional, bringing experience value and satisfaction to tourists. Thereby, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of tourists, contributing to business efficiency as well as building the image of modern, innovative Da Nang tourism, competitive with other destinations.

It is known that in the past time, with the drastic direction of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, the coordination of departments and branches, especially the continuous efforts of businesses, the tourism industry has flourished again after being affected by the pandemic. In 2024, the number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at nearly 10.9 million, an increase of 32.8% compared to 2023, equal to 135% compared to 2019. Of which, international guests are estimated at more than 4.1 million, an increase of 36.3% over the same period in 2023, equal to 128% compared to 2019; Domestic visitors are estimated to reach more than 6.7 million, an increase of 30.8% over the same period in 2023, equal to 141% compared to 2019. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel in 2024 is estimated to reach more than 31 trillion VND, an increase of 22.1% compared to 2023, equal to 146% compared to 2019.
The goal of the Da Nang tourism industry in 2025 is to strive to serve more than 11.9 million guests, an increase of 10% compared to 2024. Of which, international guests are estimated to reach 4.8 million, an increase of more than 17% compared to 2024; domestic guests are estimated to reach more than 7.1 million, an increase of more than 5% compared to 2024. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel in 2025 is expected to reach more than 36 trillion VND, an increase of more than 16% compared to 2024.
In January 2025, the number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at more than 719 thousand, an increase of 19% over the same period in 2024, equal to 133% over the same period in 2019. Of which, international guests are estimated at more than 393 thousand, an increase of 29% over the same period in 2024, equal to 163% over the same period in 2019; domestic guests are estimated at more than 326 thousand, an increase of 9% over the same period in 2024, equal to 109% over the same period in 2019. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel in January 2025 is estimated at more than 2.6 trillion VND, an increase of 18% over the same period in 2024, equal to 132% over the same period in 2019.
According to data from Google, the number of international searches for tourist accommodation in Vietnam from the end of November 2024 to the end of January 2025 increased by 15% - 30% compared to the same period last year. Notably, in the first half of February 2025, the number of international searches continued to increase by 30% - 45%.
The markets that are searching the most for Vietnam tourism are the US, Australia, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, the UK, Canada, Germany and Malaysia. These are also the key markets for Vietnam tourism in the Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe and North America regions. Notably, the two major markets, Australia and India, have the second and third highest search volume, showing great potential and room for growth.
The most searched destinations in Vietnam by international visitors are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Hue, and Vung Tau.
