Mr. Vo Van Quyen - Head of Hung Xuan Pumping Station, Hung Nguyen Irrigation Enterprise (under Nam Irrigation Company Limited) said: Hung Xuan Pumping Station has 4 machines with a capacity of ^4,000m3 /hour. In the past few days, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has released water, we have been actively pumping 24/24 hours to directly irrigate over 200 hectares of rice in the two communes of Hung Xuan and Hung Lam.

In addition, the station also pumps water into Hanh Phuc canal, Le Xuan Dao canal, and Cho Cau river to irrigate 500 hectares of rice in the communes of Hung Nghia, Hung Thong, Hung Tan, Hung Phuc, etc.

Mr. Le Manh Hung - Deputy Director of Hung Nguyen Irrigation Enterprise added: The unit has 16 pumping stations, irrigating over 5,000 hectares of spring rice. The enterprise is directing the pumping stations to ensure water for rice irrigation and actively pump enough water to store in dead-end rivers and water storage canals including Le Xuan Dao canal, Hanh Phuc canal, 12/9 canal and some other dead-end rivers...

Pumping water into the water storage canals plays a very important role. There are times when the Lam River is dry, but the water storage canal system can still irrigate over 2,000 hectares concentrated in the communes of Hung Dao, Hung Thinh, Hung Nghia, Hung Thong, Hung Tan, Hung Phuc... It is expected that on March 3, the pumping stations will fill the water storage canal system.

Mr. Bui Van Hao - Chairman and Director of Nam Irrigation Company Limited added: The unit provides irrigation water for nearly 17,000 hectares of rice in Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen districts and Vinh City, of which 15,000 hectares of irrigation water comes from pumping stations, 2,000 hectares of water from lakes and dams. In recent days, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has released water, the unit has directed enterprises to operate 46 pumping stations to promptly irrigate spring rice.

At the same time, the irrigation unit also proactively pumps water to create sources for dead-end canals and rivers, specifically; pumping water into Le Xuan Dao canal, Hanh Phuc canal, 12/9 canal, main canal 17 in Hung Nguyen district. Pumping water into Bau Non canal, Nam Anh commune, Lam Tra canal, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district. Up to this point, the pumping stations have pumped enough water for the spring rice crop. Currently, the pumping stations are actively pumping water to create sources for water storage canals, the unit continues to coordinate with localities to operate water sources reasonably, propagate and mobilize people to save water.
