On the morning of December 24, the Government Inspectorate held a national conference to review 5 years (2020 - 2024) of implementing the Law on Anti-Corruption (AC). Member of the Party Central Committee, Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong chaired the conference.
At Dak Nong bridge, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi; Chief Inspector of the province Pham Thi Tra My chaired the conference at Dak Nong bridge.
According to the Government Inspectorate, after 5 years of implementing the Law on Anti-Corruption, ministries, branches and localities have inspected the implementation of the code of conduct of cadres, civil servants and public employees at 117,848 agencies, organizations and units; promptly detected and corrected violations and handled 2,906 cadres, civil servants and public employees violating the code of conduct and professional ethics.
Agencies, organizations and units have developed plans and organized the transfer of positions for 235,271 people with positions and powers according to the provisions of the Law on Anti-Corruption and guiding documents.
In the past 5 years, 2,060,550 people have declared their assets and income, with a disclosure rate of over 98%; 37,106 people have had their assets and income verified. 147 people have been disciplined for violating regulations on asset and income control.
The work of detecting and handling corruption has made great strides and breakthroughs. The authorities have been proactive, focused on verifying, tracing and effectively implementing the recovery of misappropriated and lost assets.
During the 2020-2024 period, 264 leaders and deputy leaders were disciplined for lack of responsibility for corruption; of which 73 were criminally prosecuted.
However, corruption is still very complicated, with seriousness beyond the amount of corrupt assets and the position and authority of the person committing the corruption.
The effectiveness of implementing corruption prevention measures is still limited; the rate of recovery of corrupt and lost assets is still low; the value of assets to be recovered in corruption and negative cases is still large.
In Dak Nong, the provincial Inspectorate has conducted 89 inspections of the responsibility for implementing legal regulations on anti-corruption at 96 units; and issued conclusions on 85 inspections.
Through the inspection, the PCTN discovered and corrected existing shortcomings, limitations, and violations. The Dak Nong Provincial Inspectorate discovered economic violations with a total amount of nearly 12 billion VND.
Based on the content and nature of the violations, the Provincial Inspectorate has recommended the recovery of more than 4.2 billion VND; other economic recommendations are more than 7.6 billion VND.
The provincial inspectorate recommended administrative sanctions against 33 organizations and 79 individuals; criminally recommended transferring 1 case to the police investigation agency for further investigation and handling.
Speaking at the conference, Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong emphasized that after more than 5 years of implementing the Law on Anti-Corruption, anti-corruption work has been deployed strongly, resolutely, persistently, continuously, without rest, without forbidden areas, without exceptions, regardless of who the person is.
Anti-corruption work has achieved important, comprehensive, synchronous and more obvious results. Corruption has been gradually controlled, prevented and tends to decrease.
The positive results of anti-corruption work have significantly contributed to maintaining political stability, improving the business environment, developing the socio-economy, and enhancing the prestige and position of our country in the international arena.
