Sharing after the loss to the world's 6th ranked team, Asia's 1st ranked team and host of the 19th ASIAD, China, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team said that the opponent was at a different level than the Vietnamese team, so the result was not surprising.

Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and the main Vietnamese players only played in the first game against China and then were given a break to prepare for the semi-finals.

"The goal of the Vietnamese team today was to keep the key players in shape when they were put on the field in game 1. After that, the coaching staff gave opportunities to the reserve players who rarely had a chance to play. The only thing is that when they entered the field, they were not confident in showing their abilities, they were timid from serving the ball to organizing the attack, so the coaching staff was not satisfied," said coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

Ly Thi Luyen was given the opportunity to compete with the world's top volleyball team, China.

Evaluating the Japanese opponent that the Vietnamese team will face in the semi-finals at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that this team had just participated in the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship with Vietnam and won 3-2 against us in the third-place match. "At ASIAD 19, the Japanese team brought a lineup quite similar to the Asian tournament, only changing a few positions, especially the setter. We set the highest goal of determination, each player showing their full potential when meeting this team again," said coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is putting all their efforts into tomorrow's semi-final match with Japan.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet also said that not having to face the pressure of performance after winning a ticket to the semi-finals helped the whole team to be excited and think about doing something to get a better ranking. "I think the Vietnamese players will compete with more than 100% of their ability in the semi-finals," Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet confided.
