Thanh Thuy regains top form
Gresik Petrokimia recruited former captain of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team Tran Thi Thanh Thuy with the goal of "flying high" in the Proliga but the club has not succeeded. Although Thanh Thuy played quite well, she had to say goodbye to the Indonesian volleyball team after only 1 month playing for this team.
Thanh Thuy has not played successfully in her last two overseas trips to Türkiye and Indonesia.
American foreign player Julia Sangiacomo was chosen to replace Thanh Thuy, although her performance was not as expected, but together with Cuban foreign player Kitania Medina, she helped the team play well in the last 2 matches. In the match on February 8, Thanh Thuy's old team defeated Jakarta Pertamina Club with a score of 3-1, winning all 3 points. In the next match yesterday (February 9), Gresik Petrokimia Club lost 2-3 to Jakarta Elektrik Club and accumulated 1 more point.
With 14 points in hand, Gresik Petrokimia FC has risen to 5th place and is only 2 points behind the 4th place team. The goal of Tran Thi Thanh Thuy's old team is to enter the top 4 to compete in the Proliga semi-finals and they have 3 more matches to strive for.

Meanwhile, after saying goodbye early to Gresik Petrokimia Club, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy returned to contribute to her parent unit VTV Binh Dien Long An. Since the injury she suffered in early 2024 while playing in Japan for PFU Blue Cats Club (Japan), Thanh Thuy has not regained her peak form. That was the main reason why she said goodbye early when she went to Türkiye to join Kuzeyboru Club and most recently said goodbye to Gresik Petrokimia Club of Indonesia.
Thanh Thuy has now returned to training with VTV Binh Dien Long An Club. According to the plan, she will join the Western team to participate in the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Volleyball Cup taking place from March 5 to 10 in Ninh Binh. After that, she will continue with this team to conquer the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship taking place from March 22 to 31 in Hanoi. The reigning champion VTV Binh Dien Long An has more strength to defend the throne with the return of Thanh Thuy.
