According to the 2024 summer-autumn crop production water regulation plan of the People's Committee of Bac Binh district, the whole district arranges production of 35,931 hectares, an increase of about 3,000 hectares compared to the same period last year (in the 2023 summer-autumn crop, the district arranged production of 32,997 hectares).
In particular, based on the water resource situation, this summer-autumn crop, Bac Binh district will produce 15,260 hectares of food crops (13,060 hectares of rice, 2,200 hectares of corn); 5,370 hectares of starch crops; 4,825 hectares of food crops; 3,680 hectares of short-term industrial crops; 2,560 hectares of dragon fruit; 3,841 hectares of other fruit trees...
Specifically, the summer-autumn crop production season in the area starts from April 20 to June 15, 2024. As for the rice planting schedule, based on the water source situation after the end of the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop production, conditions from the water discharge source of Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant or rain source... specialized units will announce the regulation of production water starting from April 20 to May 25.
Based on the current water source regulation, the People's Committee of Bac Binh district said that for areas that do not depend on water regulation from irrigation works, specifically in small-scale fields and fields pumped from river and stream systems, concentrated planting will take place from the end of April to May 20. Note that only produce when there is a water source to ensure irrigation for the production cycle and strictly direct the planting season, ensuring the interval between two crops is at least 20 days. For the remaining crops such as corn, flowers, short-term industrial crops and newly planted perennial trees, planting should take place at the beginning of the rainy season, when the soil is moist enough, and the planting time will be no later than June 15.
Also according to the People's Committee of Bac Binh district, the locality's target for the 2024 summer-autumn crop is 7,600 hectares of new rice varieties and high-quality rice varieties; the area for linkage and product consumption is 1,650 hectares... To ensure the set plan, the locality is focusing on regulating production water in accordance with the actual situation; concentrated and simultaneous production in each region and each field but still ensuring water for daily life. At the same time, speed up the completion of traffic works and irrigation works in the dry season. Absolutely do not let people produce on mounds, areas with water difficulties, areas that are not proactive in irrigation...
It is known that in 2024, Bac Binh district was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to achieve a total food output higher than last year, with 253,000 tons, of which rice output is 85,541 tons; corn output is 5,544 tons (in 2023, the district's total food output target is 231,500 tons).
