The Project Management Board has urged and requested the contractor to mobilize more personnel, vehicles and equipment to open the project to traffic in June.
On March 18, according to the reporter's records, the Long Son - Cai Mep road project is accelerating the construction of the final items, expected to be completed in June 2025.
Song Rang Bridge progress is also very good, over 70%.
The Long Son - Cai Mep road project started construction in June 2020, and is one of the key traffic projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
This route plays a role in completing the traffic system connecting Long Son and Cai Mep - Thi Vai areas. In particular, this area also concentrates petrochemical complexes, industrial parks, seaports and logistics service centers.
The route is 3.75km long, 40.5m wide with a total preliminary investment of over 1,188 billion VND. When completed, this route will shorten the distance from Long Son to Cai Mep to 8km instead of the current 25km.
The project is divided into 6 construction packages, of which the Song Rang bridge package and the road package are the two most important parts.
Of which, Song Rang Bridge started construction on June 8, 2020, expected to be completed in June 2024, but was extended to April 2025. The road section started construction in November 2021, expected to be completed by the end of 2024, but was also extended to June 2025.
Mr. Lai Van Thanh, Site Manager of Thang Long Construction Mechanical Corporation (construction contractor) said that by January 2025, the total output of the packages had reached about 55% of the value.
Vehicles, equipment and personnel are increased to speed up construction.
Some packages still face difficulties such as lack of roads to transport materials, leading to construction interruptions, significantly affecting the project completion progress.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, Director of the Regional Traffic and Agricultural Project Management Board of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (investor) said that the Board has directed contractors to change the material transportation plan.
Mr. Trinh directed the contractor to use cargo ships and barges to transport materials to the construction site. Quickly speed up construction, ensuring the project is completed on schedule.
Contractors are also actively mobilizing additional resources and human resources to speed up construction, ensuring completion of the project on the extended schedule.
"With favorable weather in the coming time, the Board has requested the construction unit to increase shifts and speed up construction to complete the technical traffic opening target on June 30, 2025. The Board will closely coordinate with contractors and related units to quickly resolve arising issues, ensuring progress and quality," said Mr. Trinh.

Recently in mid-March, during a site survey at the Long Son - Cai Mep road project, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Nguyen Van Tho said that when completed, this route will connect industrial parks, seaports and logistics service centers, promote trade and create momentum for local development.
Therefore, the provincial leaders requested units to focus maximum resources, human resources and finance to complete the project on schedule. Request to complete Song Rang bridge in March 2025 and open the entire route to traffic by the end of June 2025. Thinh Phat Company urgently completes the Nhu Dien canal load-reducing floor item before March 30, 2025, ensuring the overall progress.
