Son La: Construction of Hoa Binh expressway is expected to begin.

The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project has been identified by Son La province as a key project, creating a breakthrough to promote socio -economic development in Son La province and the Northwest region. The section through Son La province is approximately 32.3 km long; the starting point is at km 53 in Chieng Yen commune, Van Ho district, and the end point is at km 85+300 intersecting with National Highway 43 in Phieng Luong commune, Moc Chau district.

According to the Son La Department of Construction, the Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee has so far approved the feasibility study reports for 3 out of 3 component projects, including: compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance in Van Ho district; compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance in Moc Chau district (now Moc Chau town); and the component project for the construction of transportation infrastructure.

Currently, the investors of the component projects are urgently directing the implementation of the next steps. Regarding the progress of capital allocation and disbursement of project funds, the cumulative allocated capital is over 3,189 billion VND, reaching 64.58%, from the central government budget.

At the meeting of the Steering Committee for the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section in Son La province on the afternoon of March 18, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee, requested Van Ho district to coordinate with relevant units to promptly complete the project appraisal dossier.

In addition, Moc Chau town and Van Ho district are urgently disbursing compensation funds for land clearance, crop compensation, and property compensation to the people in the project area, absolutely avoiding complacency and striving to ensure that the goals are achieved according to the plan.

For the Project Management Board for the construction of transportation infrastructure projects, urge the consulting unit to accelerate the completion of the required documents; finalize the plan for preparing to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section within Son La province on May 19, 2025.
