Border Kitchen – a place connecting teachers in the Cambodian border area

Promoting the spirit of mutual love and support, caring for the material and spiritual life and improving professional activities for cadres, teachers and students, the Department of Education and Training of Tan Bien district, a border district bordering Cambodia, has practical work, accompanying schools in border communes and disadvantaged areas of the district, notably the model "Accompanying education in border and disadvantaged areas - Border kitchen".

Tan Bien has 44 schools under the management of the District People's Committee. In recent years, with the attention of the Party Committee, the government, departments, branches and organizations, school facilities have been built in the direction of standardization, the lives of cadres, teachers and employees of the whole sector have been gradually improved.

After 5 years of implementing the model "Accompanying education in border and disadvantaged areas - Border kitchen" of the Department of Education and Training of Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province, it has brought positive results and great spiritual values, contributing to strengthening solidarity, taking care of the spiritual life of cadres and teachers in disadvantaged areas to work with peace of mind.

Since 2018, the District Department of Education and Training has boldly implemented the policy of socializing education. From 600 bags of cement from Fico Tay Ninh Cement Company, the Department of Education and Training has allocated to 8 schools in Thanh Bac, Tan Phong and Tra Vong communes to concrete the school yard, build traffic roads to the school gate and classrooms with a total concrete covered area of ​​1,200m2.
Mobilizing the construction of 4 public houses with 9 rooms for teachers in Tan Khai hamlet, Thanh Bac with a total value of more than 2 billion VND. The Department of Education and Training donated 12 solar bulbs, 540 gifts to teachers in border and disadvantaged areas, 120 bicycles and 400 health insurance cards to students and many other projects with a total value of nearly 6 billion VND. At the same time, inland schools accompanied schools in border and remote areas such as organizing 24 exchanges, meetings, and discussions to discuss expertise, profession, culture, arts, physical education, sports, and giving gifts to poor students. During the organization process, many units had good and creative ways of doing things, suitable to the reality of the unit such as: Town Secondary School supported the construction of a parking lot for teachers, gave stone benches to students of Thanh Hiep Secondary School (Thanh Bac commune); Tan Bien Town Primary School held professional group activities, built a road from the teachers' housing area to the classroom, donated school drums and chairs to students of Thanh Bac B Primary School; donated televisions to Tan Khai Primary School; Tan Lap Secondary School donated health insurance to poor students of Thanh Bac Secondary School. Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School donated calligraphy pens, rice, and school supplies to poor students of Tan Khai Primary School; Pham Ngoc Thach Kindergarten and Vanh Khuyen Kindergarten donated equipment and toys to Hoa Lan Kindergarten to build a Fairy Garden...
In particular, during the Lunar New Year, the Department of Education and Training and schools in the town area organized a Spring Border Exchange, mobilizing donors to give Tet gifts to schools and teachers working in Tan Khai hamlet worth nearly 350 million VND...

The "Border Kitchen" program has received active support from groups, individuals and benefactors inside and outside the industry. From the mobilization source, the Border Kitchen continues to be maintained, contributing to sharing difficulties, taking care of the material and spiritual life of teachers, significantly improving the difficulties of teachers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, a teacher at Tan Khai Primary School shared: "Each meal from the Border Kitchen, although not too large in terms of material, has contributed to sharing part of the worries, and is a great source of spiritual encouragement for us - those who are serving the cause of education in the border land of Tan Khai". In the past 5 years, from the 2018-2019 school year to the 2022-2023 school year, Tan Bien Department of Education and Training has achieved the leading unit in the emulation movements of the province, continuously winning the first prize of the whole delegation at the provincial level of Phu Dong Sports Festival. The Red Flamboyant Festival, Excellent Student Competition, Clean and Beautiful Notebook Competition, and Science and Technology Competition are always in the top 3 of the province. These achievements are the result of solidarity and unity in the whole industry, proudly contributing important results to the local education cause, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the District Party Congress./.
