On August 19, Mr. Trinh Hong Nhut, Deputy Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital (Dak Lak), said that he had sent a document to the Department of Health and the Internal Political Security Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police, requesting to handle false information about the hospital "kidney robbery", affecting the hospital's reputation.

Previously, on August 17 and 18, some social media accounts posted information slandering the Central Highlands General Hospital for "stealing the kidney" of a patient named YMN (35 years old, residing in Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pak district, Dak Lak), causing public confusion.

According to Mr. Trinh Hong Nhut, on the night of August 9, Mr. YNM was admitted to the hospital with a fever and fatigue. After examination, the doctor diagnosed Mr. YNM with dengue fever and a small amount of pleural fluid in the right lung.

A social media account has corrected previous false information.

Mr. YNM was treated at the Infectious Diseases Department but his condition did not improve. On the 5th day of treatment, Mr. YMN had a continuous high fever and impaired consciousness. Doctors diagnosed the patient with septic shock, encephalitis, meningitis, and complications of multiple organ failure. Mr. YMN was then transferred to the Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning Department for further treatment.

When transferred to the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department, Mr. YMN was in a coma, with scaly patches in the right armpit (mottled macules). After performing paraclinical measures, the doctor diagnosed Mr. YMN with mottled macules, septic shock with complications of multiple organ failure.

Doctors intubated, ventilated, administered intravenous fluids, balanced electrolytes, and performed continuous blood filtration to treat the patient. However, after 34 hours of treatment and continuous blood filtration, Mr. YMN's health did not improve. Moreover, the patient also had serious changes such as: deep coma, unimproved respiratory failure, and low blood pressure.

Faced with the above situation, the Central Highlands General Hospital explained to YMN’s family about his serious, life-threatening condition. The hospital also encouraged his family to continue his treatment, but his family insisted on writing a guarantee to take him home.

Regarding social media accounts posting false information that affects the hospital's reputation, Mr. Trinh Hong Nhut said that the unit has requested the police to investigate and strictly handle it according to regulations.

Regarding the incident, some social media accounts have removed false content about the hospital "kidney robbery" and posted corrections.
