For the first time, a public hospital in Vietnam has achieved international quality certification standards JCI (Joint Commission International) - the leading standard in the medical field.
On the afternoon of January 22, Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital held a ceremony to receive the JCI (Joint Commission International) gold seal, becoming the first public hospital in Vietnam to achieve the leading international standard certification in the medical field.
According to Director of Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital Phu Chi Dung, to achieve this certification in about 16 months, the staff at the hospital has made constant efforts.
Specifically, the hospital has issued 20 new policies, revised 180 procedures and regulations to meet JCI standards, and conducted hundreds of training sessions for regular staff and outsourced service staff to handle situations to ensure patient safety and improve service quality.
At the ceremony, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong said that the Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital has proven its pioneering role in the city's health sector, affirming the remarkable development in the quality of medical services, aiming towards international standards.
Mr. Thuong emphasized: "Achieving JCI certification is a stepping stone for the hospital to conquer higher standards. I hope that the hospital team will continue to maintain its performance, constantly improve quality and service, making the hospital an excellent medical symbol of the city and the whole country."
