On the morning of January 4, the Association for Food Transparency (AFT) and the Organica Organic Food System, along with partners, organized the "Tet Specialty Festival - Regional Imprints" to introduce "standard" foods and agricultural products for consumption during Tet in a space with many regional specialties, as well as Tet experience activities...
During the festival, many qualified agricultural products were displayed, attracting customers to learn more and add them to their shopping carts.
As a distributor introducing agricultural products to consumers during Tet, Ms. Pham Phuong Thao, CEO of Organica Organic Food Distribution System, shared the reason for participating in the festival because of food safety, especially during Tet, the quality of safe meals is always "hot" at the end of the year, such as the recent chemical-soaked bean sprouts.
"Therefore, during Tet, consumers also need to aim for products that are strictly inspected from origin to processing, ensuring that they meet international standards. In addition, standards such as sustainability standards, safety standards, transparency and communication... also need to be focused on so that products that reach the dining table must be of real quality and ensure food safety," said Ms. Pham Phuong Thao.
If agricultural products that meet many standards attract many consumers at the festival, the Northern specialty booth also attracts many visitors to the festival.

Thinking that in Ho Chi Minh City, even if you go to the market, you still cannot find old coriander, but you are surprised to find this product at the festival, that is what Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly shared after buying two bunches of old coriander at once.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Minh Ngoc - representative of Fin Ho Cooperative (the unit selling old coriander), in just the morning, half of the old coriander was sold out.
Ms. Ngoc said: "This is a type of plant that is only available during Tet and is an indispensable part of the Tet tradition of people in the North, used for bathing, housewarming, purification and welcoming a lucky new year. The shortage of old coriander in the South has made the product popular with users."
Tet not only focuses on choosing safe food for meals, but also focuses on the environmentally friendly trend that AFT, distributors and partners pay attention to. For example, making flower water from probiotics, sugar and fruit peels; this product can also be used to clean floors, deodorize...
Vegetables, fruits and many products consumed in high demand during Tet will have their origin checked.
According to market forecasts, the demand for food and agricultural products during Tet this year will increase by about 10 - 20% compared to Tet in 2024.
To ensure food safety during the 2025 Lunar New Year, especially when supply increases during the peak season, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety will increase food safety inspections throughout the city from December 20, 2024 to March 25, 2025.
According to the department, the interdisciplinary inspection teams will focus on product groups with high consumption during Tet such as vegetables, fruits, meat and meat products, beer, wine, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, cakes, jams, candies, food additives, along with food service businesses and food processing villages.
Items of unknown origin or showing signs of commercial fraud will be carefully reviewed...
