Ms. Nguyen Hong Xinh, an English teacher at Vo Thi Sau Primary School in District 7, said she was moved when she sat in the audience watching and feeling the students’ films. Today’s generation of primary school students are truly talented, they have the ability to act, pronounce English with a good accent and convey their love for their homeland.
"This is the first time my teachers and students and I have participated in producing a film together. It sounds interesting, but when we did it, we were surprised because making a film is very hard, sometimes a scene has to be filmed many times," said the female English teacher.
Ms. Xinh hopes that such inspiring playgrounds will continue to be organized, spreading the message of pride and love for the country in English, so that foreign friends can see and feel.

This contest helps promote the movement of learning English among students in the district, meeting the expectations of parents, and building high-quality human resources for the future. In a period when information technology is developing rapidly, being good at English opens up many advantages. The English film festival is also a smart way, when the film-making process brings out many talents of students. I also admire the fact that the contest has the participation and connection of many parents and teachers. Many teachers are good at English, with standard pronunciation - this is the pride of teachers in public schools".
Mr. Ho Ngoc Khai, Head of the Department of Art Education, Faculty of Primary Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, a member of the jury, said: "The jury consists of 5 foreign members and 1 Vietnamese member, showing the fairness of the contest. The arrangement of the number of jury members like this not only evaluates the English part but also evaluates the presentation of the film's theme, the educational value and the message conveyed through the film's content and the presentations of the groups. The scoring criteria are specific, scientific, and balance the importance of each part; exploiting it so that the jury can evaluate the collective achievements and outstanding individuals among students, teachers and parents".
