Former Secretary of Hoa Binh City Arrested for Gambling

On August 7, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online, a leader of Hoa Binh province said that the Security Investigation Agency, Ministry of Public Security, has prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc (50 years old, residing in Hoa Binh province), former secretary of Hoa Binh city (Hoa Binh province), to investigate gambling.

Previously, the Organizing Committee of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee issued an official dispatch on information about the meeting of the Provincial Party Executive Committee.

Accordingly, on April 12, 2023, the Provincial Party Executive Committee and the Provincial Party Standing Committee met and agreed to let Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc resign from the positions of member of the Hoa Binh City Party Executive Committee, member of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Standing Committee and the position of Secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term according to his personal wishes, related to another matter regarding the responsibility of setting an example for leaders.

Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc, 50 years old, from My Duc district, Hanoi city.

Mr. Duc has a university degree, majoring in road and bridge construction, and a bachelor's degree in politics, majoring in organization.

Mr. Duc held the position of Director of the Department of Construction of Hoa Binh province before becoming Secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee.
