NDO - At 4:00 a.m. on November 10, the eye of the storm was located in the northwest sea of the northern East Sea, about 335 km north-northeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the eye of the storm was level 14 (150-166 km/h), gusting to level 17. The storm moved west at a speed of about 5 km/h.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 4:00 a.m. on November 11, the center of storm No. 7 was located at about 17.8 degrees north latitude; 111.8 degrees east longitude, in the northwest sea of the northern East Sea, about 145km north of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10, gusting to level 13. The storm moved southwest at a speed of about 5-10km/hour and weakened.
At 4:00 a.m. on November 12, the center of the storm was at about 15.9 degrees north latitude; 109.6 degrees east longitude, in the sea from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 7, gusting to level 9. The storm moved southwest at a speed of about 10-15 km/h, gradually weakening into a tropical depression.
At 4:00 a.m. on November 13, the center of the tropical depression was at about 13.5 degrees north latitude; 107.8 degrees east longitude, in the Central Highlands. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression decreased to below level 6. The tropical depression moved southwest at a speed of about 10-15 km/h, gradually weakening into a low pressure area.
Due to the influence of storm No. 7, the western sea area of the northern East Sea has strong winds of level 7-10, the area near the storm's center has winds of level 11-14, gusts of level 17, waves 4-6m high, the area near the center has waves of 7-9m; the sea is very rough.
Warning, ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
To proactively respond and limit damage caused by storms, the Prime Minister has issued an Official Dispatch requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa to monitor and update developments of storms, rains, and floods, and promptly direct and deploy response work according to assigned functions and tasks.
Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities shall proactively direct and deploy storm response work in a timely and effective manner, in accordance with the actual developments of storms and floods in the locality, focusing on strictly controlling ships going out to sea, ensuring safety for vehicles and ships still operating at sea and at anchorages and shelters.
Review plans, be ready to evacuate residents in dangerous areas, promptly deploy measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property when the storm is at risk of direct impact.
Proactively deploy work to ensure safety of dykes, reservoirs and dams; prepare forces and means to promptly support people, rescue and overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
