Ensuring the quality of the draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended) when submitting to the National Assembly

Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that at the sixth session, the draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended) was discussed by the National Assembly, contributing many very valid opinions, and at the same time, carefully considered many aspects and decided to consider and approve it at the nearest session to have more time to study, absorb and clarify issues with many different opinions, ensuring the quality and feasibility of these laws after they are promulgated.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and delegates listened to Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh and Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Thi Hong report on the work of explaining, receiving and revising the contents of the draft Law since the sixth session until now, the contents are continuing to be completed to ensure quality when submitted to the National Assembly at the next session.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue requested that the agencies of the National Assembly, the Government and relevant agencies, especially the Economic Committee and the State Bank, continue to coordinate closely, review each provision and each option in the spirit of closely following the principles and viewpoints of amending the Law that have been identified.

The draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended) consists of 16 chapters and 208 articles. Compared to the draft Law submitted by the Government at the fifth session, the current draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended) has added 3 chapters and 13 articles; amended and supplemented 160 articles, of which 90 articles are amended in content and 61 articles are amended in technical documents to make the content clearer and more coherent.

The Draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended) is a difficult and highly technical law that has a great impact on the economy and on each organization and individual. Therefore, the National Assembly and relevant agencies will continue to absorb and carefully revise it to ensure that when the Law is passed, it will have long-term vitality, creating a stable legal basis for credit institutions to operate healthily and have favorable conditions for development.
