Since its inception, our Party has always paid attention to the work of building, rectifying, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation. In 2018, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.
The Resolution clearly states that protecting the Party's ideological foundation means protecting the Party, its political platform and guidelines; protecting the People, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's rule of law State; protecting the cause of innovation, industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration.
As the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Thuan, the Party Committee and Editorial Board of Binh Thuan Newspaper set the task of strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation as an important and top priority task in the overall political tasks of the agency and the Party Committee. Because today, when cyberspace (Facebook, Zalo, Youtube, Google...) is increasingly developing strongly and due to its openness, with the characteristics of freedom, diversity and equality, the boundary between reality and virtuality is often blurred, it is the leading tool for hostile forces to exploit to sabotage, transform politics and terrorize.
To propagate wrong views, hostile forces have used many different tricks and methods, which are increasingly sophisticated, cunning, and dangerous, affecting all classes in society. The tricks of direct attack and attack are the Party's ideological foundation, the Party's leadership position and role in the State and society, the goals and path to socialism, and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland of our people under the leadership of the Party. The targets of the hostile and reactionary propaganda activities are mainly intellectuals, artists; cadres and party members, especially retired cadres; cadres and party members showing signs of dissatisfaction, degradation in ideology, politics, morality, lifestyle, and showing signs of self-evolution and self-transformation; the young generation, especially students; workers...
This poses many challenges to the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, which is truly an important front and cannot be neglected. Therefore, the current ideological struggle is an objective issue, a crucial task, requiring everyone and the force carrying out this task in cyberspace to always be fully aware of the challenges and requirements of the task, build up courage, responsibility and high determination, contribute to protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.
Faced with the above situation, the Editorial Board of Binh Thuan Newspaper proactively identified the above situation and realized that this was a particularly difficult task, but it had to take the responsibility of taking the lead. The favorable thing was that the Politburo issued Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" which helped the newspaper receive a consistent viewpoint on the specific goals and tasks set by the Party.
Through that, the newspaper has more information and offers many solutions to implement this work. From the propaganda orientation stage in the weekly and monthly propaganda outline, to the assignment in the editorial board, assigning reporters and groups of reporters to write articles on Party building and political system building, proactively opening many special pages and columns such as: "Party building"; "Example of Party members"; "Party in life"; "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style"... Thereby praising and spreading many exemplary Party members and typical Party grassroots organizations in labor, production, study, work, production and business and following Uncle Ho.
Every year, the team of reporters and editors of Binh Thuan Newspaper actively participates in press competitions on Party building launched by the central and local governments, mobilizing a team of reporters and collaborators to participate, many works are of high quality, discovering many shining examples of Party members in various fields. Binh Thuan Newspaper has deployed propaganda and responded to the online contest to learn about Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, and the history of the Provincial Party Committee.
Currently, Binh Thuan Newspaper is actively participating in the political writing contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation organized by the Central Committee, with dozens of quality political articles. In order to practically contribute to bringing the Party's resolution into life, Binh Thuan Newspaper launched a writing contest with the theme: "Press propaganda to develop the three economic pillars of tourism, industry, and high-tech agriculture of Binh Thuan".
With the motto "using beauty to eliminate ugliness, using positivity to push back negativity", Binh Thuan Newspaper has actively propagated and spread positive information, providing readers with official information to guide public opinion. Especially before, during and after important political events of the country and locality such as: 13th National Party Congress, 14th Provincial Party Congress; election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Council deputies for the 2021-2026 term... Or major anniversaries of the country such as: Anniversary of the Party's founding, National Day September 2, President Ho Chi Minh's birthday... Every year, when Tet comes, Binh Thuan Newspaper publishes a special spring issue with a beautiful, attractive format, highlighting achievements in the development of Binh Thuan homeland in all fields, to spread optimism and confidence among cadres and people.
Reality shows that the results achieved in propagating, orienting, fighting to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fighting to refute the hostile and erroneous views of Binh Thuan Newspaper are many efforts and have achieved certain results. However, compared to the requirements, it still does not really meet the requirements, because these articles require both high political content and appeal to attract readers, but some articles have not met the above criteria.
The team of writers on this topic is still small, with limited expertise and practical experience. The political level of the team of editors and reporters is mostly at the intermediate political level, so they do not have enough theoretical knowledge to best carry out political articles related to the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation and fight against hostile and erroneous viewpoints...
Therefore, in the coming time, the Editorial Board determines that it is necessary to continue to pay more attention to training and fostering the team of reporters and editors, in order to improve their political theory and professional expertise, to meet the task of propagating and fighting to protect the Party's ideological foundation, to fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, and "peaceful evolution" plots.
The Editorial Board also recommended that the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department increase the organization of training courses for journalists writing on the topic of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation. At the same time, it recommended that the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board advise a number of reporters and editors in the Internal Affairs and Party Building section (those not included in the leadership planning) to be trained in advanced political theory, so that this team has enough theoretical knowledge to write these articles.
Along with that, the Editorial Board also requested the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to pay attention to directing the functional branches to advise the Provincial People's Committee to decide to invest in electronic newspapers, further promote the strengths of multimedia media agencies to propagate and educate political ideology for cadres and people and fight against bad and toxic information. At the same time, promptly reward and encourage authors and works with high quality in fighting against wrong views, protecting our Party and regime.
And to better carry out the task of propaganda and the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation, Binh Thuan Newspaper continues to build a team of editors and reporters with political courage to further improve the effectiveness of propaganda; strengthen special pages and columns on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation.
