Poland believes that Ukraine has shown a positive image in just under two weeks. However, Kiev should remember that the West's stance is 'non-escalation' in the conflict.

Poland's Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said on August 17 that Ukraine was reaping "huge political benefits" from its military offensive in western Russia but that the raid would not change the West's "anti-escalation approach."
Ukraine says its troops have seized more than 80 settlements covering 1,150 square kilometers (444 square miles) in Kursk since August 6 in the biggest offensive on Russia since World War II.
Asked by the media whether Kiev's military gains would change the allies' stance on using weapons supplied to Ukraine, the Polish Interior Minister said: "This attack does not change the West's anti-escalation attitude... I think that for Western countries, this is an event that changes the image of Ukraine, Kiev's political gains are huge in less than two weeks."
Western governments providing military aid to Ukraine, however, have refused to allow Ukraine to use long-range weapons for fear of escalating the conflict.
The US said Ukraine had not announced an attack on Russia, but said Ukraine's raid in the Kursk region was a defensive move appropriate for Kiev to use weapons provided by Washington.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed a similar view, saying that Ukraine had every right to react in a way that could “paralyze” Russia.
