Reuters news agency reported on March 4 that President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed the Defense Minister and other officials to verify accurate information about the US actions.
In his daily video address, President Zelensky said: "I have instructed the Ukrainian defense minister, the head of the intelligence service and diplomats to contact their American counterparts to receive official information. People should not be left in a state of conjecture."
"Maintaining a normal partnership with the United States is key to truly ending the conflict. None of us wants an endless conflict," the leader said.
Meanwhile, the commander of the 108th Independent Mechanized Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergey Filimonov asserted that US military support is "very important in protecting the skies", while financial aid affects the economy and morale of society.
"In the future, much will depend on our European allies. They will have to leave the safe zone. We cannot stand on our own," said the 46th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian army.
Similar to this assessment, on the same day, March 4, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced that the US decision to temporarily suspend military aid to Ukraine means that it is now Europe's responsibility to do everything possible to ensure Ukraine maintains its frontline against Russia.
"This front line is the first line of defense for Europe and France," he said, adding that it was time for Europe to wean itself off its dependence on American weapons.
Meanwhile, French Prime Minister Francois Bayou accused US President Donald Trump's decision to suspend arms aid to Ukraine amid the conflict of sending a signal that Washington was "abandoning" Kiev and letting Russia win.
According to the head of the French government, Europe now needs to quickly and effectively replace US arms transfers.
According to sources from Bloomberg and Fox News on March 3, after the shocking argument between Mr. Zelensky and Mr. Trump at the White House on February 28, the US has suspended military aid to Ukraine until Kiev clearly shows its goodwill towards peace with Russia.
All US military equipment that has not yet been delivered to Ukraine will be suspended, including weapons that are being transported on planes, ships or waiting in transit areas in Poland.
