These days, the Youth Union of Hoa Hai Ward (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang) is rushing to complete the housing project to hand over to Ms. Mai Thi Duyen (69 years old, residing in Group 73). Ms. Duyen is a single woman, a poor household and has no house. Photo: Giang Thanh |
Understanding the situation, Hoa Hai Ward Youth Union mobilized funds from benefactors to support 60 million VND, along with 20 million VND from the ward's "For the Poor" Fund to support her in building a new level 4 house with an area of about 50 square meters, helping her have a stable place to live before the rainy season. |
The project was built in nearly 2 months with the enthusiastic support of the youth union members of Hoa Hai ward. Whenever there was any work, the blue-shirted construction workers were immediately present to assist. |
According to Dang Nguyen Vu (member of the Hoa Hai Ward Youth Union), from the early days, volunteers and construction workers supported any work from pushing bricks, shoveling sand, mixing mortar... |
“Up to now, when the house is in the finishing stage, we continue to support painting, fencing, installing electricity and water systems, etc. to soon hand it over to the household,” said Mr. Vu. |
According to Mr. Vuong Ngoc Trai - Deputy Secretary of Hoa Hai Ward Youth Union, this is one of the activities of the Summer Volunteer Campaign with the desire to share and help people in difficult circumstances in the area, creating more motivation and confidence for disadvantaged people to stabilize their lives and have the conditions to rise out of poverty. |
“In addition to mobilizing funds, the ward’s youth union members also actively contributed working days so that the project could be completed soon and handed over to people for use before the rainy season comes,” said Mr. Trai. |
It is known that in the 2024 Summer Volunteer Campaign, the Da Nang City Youth Union aims to build 12 new charity houses and red scarf houses for poor households and children in difficult circumstances. Since the beginning of June 2024, all levels of the Youth Union across the city have simultaneously implemented activities to repair and build new houses for households in difficult circumstances. |
In particular, in Lien Chieu district, all 5/5 ward Youth Unions have implemented this activity with funding from mobilizing benefactors, charitable organizations, and the local fund for the poor... Youth Union members contribute working days to clean up furniture, dismantle old houses, support the construction team during the construction process, and contribute to painting and completing new houses for people... |
According to Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh - Secretary of Lien Chieu District Youth Union, with the spirit of mutual love, youth union members in the district have contributed their efforts to support poor households, single-parent households, martyrs' mothers... to repair and build new houses. |
“The projects will be built, completed and handed over in July 2024 so that households can quickly stabilize their housing before the rainy season arrives. In addition, upon completion and handover, the Youth Union will also provide financial support or donate household appliances and furniture to the households,” said Mr. Binh. |
