Investigation of the cause of the fire by professional units showed that up to 68.7% of the total number of fires were due to electrical system or equipment failures.

On April 2, a fire broke out at a business on Phan Dang Luu Street, Tan Binh Ward (Hai Duong City). As soon as the fire broke out, the owner of the house predicted that it was due to an electrical short circuit on the second floor. The room contained many flammable items, so the short circuit caused the fire to spread very quickly. Fortunately, when the fire broke out, the family members were able to escape in time, so there were no casualties.

Previously, on February 1, a fire also broke out at Hoang Le Company Limited on Hoang Ngan Street, Binh Han Ward (Hai Duong City). The fire burned down a warehouse with an area of ​​about 1,000 square meters. According to the investigation conclusion of the authorities, the cause was determined to be the insulation of the power line supplying the factory, which then spread to the surrounding area. Although the large fire did not cause any human casualties, it caused great economic damage to the business...

In addition to the risk of fire due to electrical short circuits, some people's use of electricity for other purposes such as protecting crops also causes unfortunate consequences. In Hai Duong, there have been many heartbreaking incidents due to people using electricity to trap rats in rice fields. Those who got caught up in it lost their lives, and those who set the traps had to pay the price with strict penalties under the law. A typical incident occurred in April 2022, in team 6, Cuc Bo village, Kien Quoc commune (Ninh Giang), a fisherman accidentally got caught in a 220V electric wire to trap rats and was electrocuted to death. The person who stretched the wire was sentenced to 18 months in prison for causing death.

Many people still carelessly "entertain" themselves under power lines. Despite many warnings, there are still cases of people fishing under high voltage power lines and getting electrocuted. Many cases of kite flying near power lines cause incidents leading to widespread power outages.
