Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company - TKV is currently the open-pit coal mining unit with the highest output in the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV). Therefore, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene is always identified by the unit as the top priority task, implemented synchronously with many solutions, minimizing occupational accidents.
Right from the beginning of the year, Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company - TKV has issued resolutions, regulations, and plans for occupational safety and hygiene management such as: Joint Resolution on the implementation of occupational safety and hygiene work, regulations on safety when performing work related to electricity and equipment with strict requirements, plan to inspect occupational safety and hygiene work, practice fire fighting and rescue plans, etc.
In addition, the Company has issued timely production plans, suitable to actual conditions, improving safety factors such as: Natural disaster prevention - search and rescue, pumping water out of the mine, ensuring safety during the dumping process by conveyor belt, arranging equipment for pumping water out of the mine, exploiting before and during the rainy season, dumping and improving the slope of the surface drainage of the conveyor belt...
As a unit with a large number of workers, machinery and equipment with over 3,200 people, 48 excavators, 210 coal transport trucks, 33 graders and 81 service vehicles of all kinds, the Company pays special attention to propaganda, thereby raising the sense of self-control and safety of cadres, workers and laborers. The Company has invested in purchasing, equipping and installing 215 signs, 500 markers, 6 convex mirrors, 920 regulation boards, 21 panels... at quarries, mining areas, and transportation routes; launching emulation to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at 3 levels from individuals, production teams, and workshops; Broadcast safety information on loudspeakers regularly twice a day... At the same time, organize periodic occupational safety and hygiene training, build a team of occupational safety and hygiene workers in each group, team, workshop, organize reminders to implement occupational safety and hygiene regulations at production meetings...

As a driver of a large-tonnage coal transport vehicle of the Company, I am always self-aware and constantly improve my responsibility in implementing regulations on occupational safety and hygiene, strictly following production processes, and obeying shift handover orders. At the same time, I regularly remind my teammates to strictly follow regulations on occupational safety and hygiene, arrange suitable working hours to ensure health, and absolutely do not use alcohol, beer, or stimulants during work. Because safety for yourself is safety for the whole unit.
In addition, in recent times, the Company has also promoted mechanization, automation, and computerization with synchronous coal mining technology and large-capacity equipment. In particular, to improve the labor safety coefficient, up to now, the Company has applied software for shift handover, order receiving, and online reporting to replace the previous manual method of bookkeeping in all departments and workshops. The software not only quickly deploys work within 5-10 minutes, limits crowds, and increases labor productivity, but also easily controls the safety of vehicles, loads, speeds, routes, and workers during the production process. At the same time, it is easy to detect and clarify the responsibilities of officers and workers when incidents occur.
Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Deputy Manager of Transport Workshop 4, Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company - TKV, said: The software for shift handover, receiving orders, and online reporting not only helps save time and increase labor productivity, but also improves management in ensuring compliance with regulations on occupational safety and hygiene. Through the software, all issues of operating equipment from location, operating hours, rest time as well as speed are regularly monitored to control safety. In addition, the software also helps workers and laborers promptly detect equipment problems of the previous shift, promptly fix them, and ensure safety during operation.
With many synchronous solutions, since the beginning of the year, Cao Son Coal Company has continued to avoid serious accidents and major incidents, thereby contributing to helping the unit complete the target of exploiting over 5 million tons of coal assigned by TKV.
