AEON continues to affirm its commitment to join hands in nurturing and developing the young generation of Vietnam, through diverse activities in Vietnam - the Group's second key market besides Japan. In 2024, the AEON scholarship program will increase its total value to 900 million VND, nearly double that of the previous year, awarded to excellent students in Ho Chi Minh City.

AEON Vietnam's sustainable development strategy focuses on three main pillars: economic, environmental and social. In the social pillar, AEON Vietnam sets four core goals: promoting comprehensive health (well-being), ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion, supporting disaster recovery and nurturing the younger generation.

With the goal of encouraging the young generation of Southeast Asia to overcome difficulties through financial support, the AEON Scholarship program helps students improve their learning conditions, thereby equipping them with skills and knowledge to confidently develop themselves, becoming a positive factor promoting the common development of the community.

On November 25, the 14th AEON Scholarship Award Ceremony took place in Ho Chi Minh City, under the trust of the AEON 1% Foundation, implemented by AEON Vietnam in coordination with universities, with the participation of representatives of the AEON 1% Foundation, representatives of 9 member companies of AEON Group in Vietnam, representatives and students from universities in Ho Chi Minh City including Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH), Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE).

Since its launch, the project has awarded scholarships to 1,339 Vietnamese students.

This scholarship is the result of the hard work and effort of our students. We hope that you will always be grateful to your families and teachers who have supported you on this journey, ” she said.

Each scholarship is worth 800 USD/year (equivalent to about 20 million VND), maintained for 2 consecutive years for students with excellent academic performance but difficult economic circumstances. This is double the support level compared to previous years, in Ho Chi Minh City alone, the total value of the scholarships is up to 900 million VND.

Phan Thi Tra My, a third-year student majoring in English at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, shared: “ This scholarship not only provides financial support but is also a great source of spiritual encouragement for me. It not only helps me quickly achieve my current wishes but also serves as a springboard to bring me closer to my dream.”
