"Should voting in government be mandatory?"
With her fluent foreign language skills and sharp thinking, Ngoc Hang successfully completed the Open MIC competition, fully answering questions from her senior Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc - the reigning Miss Intercontinental and the organizing committee.
Ngoc Hang said that the Open MIC round is divided into two parts: group competition and individual competition. For the group round, contestants are divided into groups of 3-4 people, participating in a debate on the topic given by the organizers.
In the individual competition, each representative will answer a question presenting their personal opinion and giving their own perspective on the picture provided by the organizers.

In the group competition, the Vietnamese representative will join two strong candidates, Brazil and Hungary, and debate with the group of representatives from Romania, Moldova, Egypt, and Italy on the issue "Should voting [in the government] be mandatory?". In this part, Ngoc Hang will stand on the team that agrees with the viewpoint and the other team will argue the issue.
Within 1 minute, with an overview, Ngoc Hang gave an argument agreeing with the view that voting is necessary. She shared that voting helps to enhance people's responsibility towards the country, besides protecting fairness and equality among the people, while maintaining people's interest in national and international political issues.
Next, Ngoc Hang continued with the individual competition, which was quite a "tough" competition as contestants were only allowed to think and answer within 30 seconds.
The reigning Bao Ngoc asked her: " Imagine if you won the title, how would you plan to use the platforms to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles?"
The Vietnamese representative joined two strong candidates, Brazil and Hungary, and debated with a group of representatives from Romania, Moldova, Egypt, and Italy on the issue "Should voting [in the government] be mandatory?".
Ngoc Hang replied: " Actually, I am a vegetarian and the vegetarian diet has a good effect on my health. In my opinion, each person will have their own diet. If I win the Miss Intercontinental title, I want to show my positive interests and habits on social networks and community activities. I want to spread my healthy, positive lifestyle to everyone around me."
Next was the challenge of describing a picture related to culture and history within 30 seconds. At first, the beauty queen was a bit confused, but she completed this part well. After the competition, she said that she wanted to share more about the issues that the organizers posed to her, but due to time constraints, the answers still did not really satisfy her.
The person I want to beat the most is myself
On the same afternoon, Ngoc Hang continued to participate in the Closed Interview round at Miss Intercontinental 2023. In a livestream at noon today (December 10), she revealed this competition to the audience.
She said the closed interview round was quite intimate, not too stressful and had a total of 5 members on the jury. She would move to each table, meet each member of the jury directly and answer each question they asked.
She pointed out some outstanding questions she received from the judges such as: "Describe yourself in 3 words", "If you had a chance to win, what would you do?", "Ideal role model to aim for?"... She commented that she had completed the competition quite well and the final result depended on the judges' assessment.
Ngoc Hang was especially impressed with the question: "If you had the chance to defeat a contestant at Miss Intercontinental 2023, who would you want it to be?". She answered that she did not want to defeat anyone, the person she wanted to defeat the most was herself.
She also said that the reigning Miss Bao Ngoc was the one who asked her the most questions in the closed interview room and both of them still asked and answered questions entirely in English.
The voting round for the Most Popular Contestant at Miss Intercontinental 2023 - an opportunity for Ngoc Hang to enter the final Top 7, is still taking place until the final on December 15, 2023 (Egypt time).
