Miss Global 2023 Ashley Melendez was crowned in a phoenix-inspired design by designer Nguyen Minh Tuan. She burst into tears when trying on the costume for the first time in Vietnam.
On the night of March 9, Miss Global Ashley Melendez handed over the crown to her successor Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van in a special design by designer Nguyen Minh Tuan.
Before the official Miss Global 2025 day, Ashley Melendez came to Vietnam to meet with designers to try on costumes accompanying the contest.
She burst into tears when she first tried on the final walk dress. She and the designer's team came up with the idea and edited it through a 3D sketch, but unexpectedly, when she put it on, it still created a special feeling. The design, called Wings of Fire, was inspired by the legendary image of the phoenix - a symbol of resurrection, power and eternal beauty.

The outfit is crafted from high-quality materials with sophisticated cuts, flattering the wearer's figure. The main colors are bright red, orange and yellow, combined with the ombre effect to create the feeling of a fiercely burning fire. The special highlight is the upper body, which is processed in 3D with stylized feather details, giving a majestic yet soft and seductive look.
The long, flowing train and fire motifs running along the body of the dress make each move magical like a phoenix spreading its wings. Thousands of crystals are delicately attached, catching the light perfectly, making the dress sparkle and captivate on stage.

In early 2024, Ashley Melendez was the first beauty to be crowned wearing Nguyen Minh Tuan's design. In 2025, Miss Global 2023 was also the first to wear Nguyen Minh Tuan's design in the final walk and crowned Miss Global 2025 Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van.
At Miss Global 2025, beauty Ediris Rivera Berrios from Puerto Rico also won second runner-up in Nguyen Minh Tuan's design.
