On the morning of March 22, the National Data Association (NDA) was officially launched in the context of many shortcomings in data management and exploitation in Vietnam, an incomplete legal framework, lack of resources, lack of connection... In particular, the issue of awareness of the role of data is still not complete, leading to many challenges. This is one of the technological issues that NDA will address in its activities.
Among the 7 tasks set for the NDA at the 1st National Congress of Delegates, term 1 (2025 - 2030), the research, proposal and completion of the legal corridor on data to facilitate the circulation, sharing and maximum exploitation of this resource are given top priority. At the same time, the issues of security, safety and data sovereignty must still be ensured.

Second, with its core role in building, developing and exploiting national data, NDA needs to focus on four main pillars: people, location, activities and items. Third, NDA needs to be proactive and active in application activities and mastery to become self-sufficient in core data technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI), big data, blockchain technology and cloud computing.
Next, it is necessary to support the development of advanced data infrastructure such as data centers invested by the State and private enterprises. The fifth task is to strengthen international cooperation, learn from experience, attract resources and participate in global initiatives on data issues.
The remaining two tasks include building an effective enforcement and monitoring mechanism and building a data security system and products, developing data security services, and building a data security standards system to form an industry in the field.
In addition, it is necessary to quickly launch data-based innovation competitions to stimulate creativity in the community, creating a favorable environment for people to maximize their capacity in the field of science and technology. At the same time, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the capacity to master data technology, prioritize and create favorable conditions for "Make in Vietnam" data technology products to have the ability to compete fairly, especially in the global market.
