5 traffic projects with total capital of over 11,100 billion VND to start construction at the end of this year

TPO - The Department of Construction Investment Management - Ministry of Transport said that relevant units are urgently completing procedures, striving to start construction of 5 major transport projects, with a total investment of about 11,150 billion VND by the end of the year.

According to the Department of Construction Investment Management, in 9 months, the Ministry of Transport has completed 7 projects, including 6 road projects and 1 maritime project; and started 8 new projects, including 7 road projects and 1 railway project.

According to the plan, from now until the end of the year, 5 projects are preparing procedures to start construction, including: Cam Ly railway bridge project Km24+134 of Kep - Ha Long railway line. Scale of level III plain road, design speed 80km/h. Total investment of more than 796 billion VND.

This project has a total route length of about 3,014m with the starting point in Cam Ly commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province and the ending point in Bac Lung commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province.

The Cam Ly Bridge repair project has been approved by the Ministry of Transport and is expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of this year and be basically completed by the end of 2025. This is the only bridge in the country that is still used for both trains and cars on the same bridge surface, but has seriously degraded over time, posing a safety risk to traffic.

The Ministry of Transport approved the investment in the Cho Moi - Bac Kan project with a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80km/h; the extended section has a scale of 2 lanes. The total investment is over 5,750 billion VND.

Construction of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway expansion project is about to start at the end of the year.

On the route, it is expected to build 18 bridges, including 16 bridges on the highway, 2 overpasses, 4 interchanges, including the interchange with National Highway 3; the remaining 3 interchanges include: the interchange connecting with Thanh Binh Industrial Park, the interchange with Thanh Mai - Thanh Van Industrial Park, the interchange connecting to Bac Kan City, oriented according to the planning, implemented when conditions are sufficient.

The third project to be started is the investment in the route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway with Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway with a total investment of nearly 700 billion VND.

The project starts at the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway; ends at the existing Ho Chi Minh road; the total length of the route is about 2.7km. The investment capital is from the central budget, and the basic progress is expected to be completed in 2025.

The Ministry of Transport also approved investment in the project to upgrade and expand a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1, including the expansion of three bridges: Xuong Giang; Gianh Bridge, Quan Hau Bridge and Deo Ngang Tunnel. The total investment is nearly 2,000 billion VND.

Finally, the North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, Cao Bo - Mai Son section, will expand 2 lanes on the left side of the existing road, the roadbed width will be expanded to 15.25m (ensuring the completed scale of 6 lanes, the roadbed width will be 32.25m) and the bridge unit on the left side of the route will be added with 4 bridges. The total investment is nearly 1,900 billion VND.
