Last year, 17 military schools were assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to recruit 5,302 full-time university students. Admission scores to military schools based on high school graduation exam scores ranged from 20 to 28.55 points.
Military Technical Academy recruits 2 groups
The Military Technical Academy has just announced that in 2025, the academy was assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to train 360 military students (a reduction of 180 targets compared to last year).
Of which, the academy is assigned to recruit 180 students for training abroad; 5 students for training at non-military schools; 175 students for training at the academy, including 30 students for training two high-quality engineering majors: information and information system security.
The Military Technical Academy uses two admission combinations, including A00 (math, physics, chemistry) and A01 (math, physics, English).
The four admission methods of the Military Technical Academy include: direct admission and priority admission; admission of excellent high school students; admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University; and consideration of high school graduation exam scores.
Previously, the Military Technical Academy also announced that this year it would recruit 755 civilian students after 6 years of suspending training in this system.
Last year, the Military Technical Academy's benchmark score ranged from 25.46 to 27.71 according to high school graduation exam results, the highest benchmark score for female candidates in the North.
Three military schools do not accept female candidates
Army Officer School 2 recruits 493 male students (no female students) for the military program in 2025 (39 fewer than last year).
The school recruits male candidates, not older than 21 years old for non-military youth and not older than 23 years old for military personnel. In terms of physical strength, candidates must be at least 1.60m tall and weigh at least 50kg.
For candidates with permanent residence of 3 years or more in region 1, islands, ethnic minorities, height must be 1.60m or more and weight must be 48kg or more.
Regarding eyes, candidates with refractive errors or myopia will not be accepted.
Enrollment quotas for the Army Officer School 2 military system are allocated as follows:

Similarly, this year the Information Officer School announced the recruitment of 318 male students (23 fewer than last year), of which the school recruited 191 male students from the North and 127 male students from the South.
The Information Officer School trains information command and staff officers with majors such as army information, naval information, air defense - air force information; and cyberspace warfare command and staff officers.
The Engineering Officer School recruits 196 male students (55 fewer than last year), of which the school recruits 118 male students from the North and 78 male students from the South.
All three schools, Army Officer 2, Information Officer, and Engineering Officer, recruit students based on two groups: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English).
