Many readers sent comments to Tuoi Tre Online expressing concerns about whether or not people's monthly pensions and social insurance benefits will be affected since Vietnam Social Security will be organized into a three-level system with 35 regional social insurance agencies from March 1.
Pensions paid in 38 provinces and cities
According to Vietnam Social Security, from March 1, 2025, this agency will operate under a new organizational model. During the organizational restructuring period, the industry will not disrupt or affect the rights of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies.
In the first two working days of March 2025, Social Insurance transferred monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments via personal accounts to 2.7 million/3.4 million beneficiaries nationwide.
As of March 3, the entire industry has paid over 98% of the total of nearly 1.3 million beneficiaries through personal accounts (ATM cards) in 38 provinces and cities.
Social insurance agencies and banks continue to coordinate to ensure that beneficiaries will receive pensions and social insurance benefits as soon as possible.
It is expected that on March 4, all 25 remaining provinces and cities will continue to make payments according to the announced schedule.
What is the pension payment schedule in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City?
Previously, Hanoi Social Insurance (now Region I Social Insurance) said that the schedule for paying pensions and social insurance benefits via personal accounts (ATM cards) in the capital will be delayed until March 4.
The reason is that days 1 and 2-3 fall on Saturday and Sunday, so the money transfer time will be slower.
Hanoi City Social Insurance has prepared over 4,000 billion VND to pay pensions and allowances to nearly 600,000 beneficiaries.
Of which, the number received via personal accounts (ATM cards) accounts for more than 99% of the total. For cash recipients, the social insurance agency and the post office in Hanoi will pay after March 4.
Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance (now Region II Social Insurance) announced the time to pay pensions and social insurance benefits at post offices in cash from March 7 to 10 .
At the payment points of the post office at the central or district post office, the payment schedule takes place from March 11 to 25.
It is expected that pensioners and beneficiaries will receive pensions and social insurance benefits through their accounts from March 1 .
According to Decision 391/QD-BTC of the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam Social Security is a special agency with the function of implementing social insurance and health insurance policies and regimes. The focus is on paying pensions, social insurance benefits, and unemployment insurance.
The sector also organizes the management and use of extra-budgetary state financial funds, conducts specialized inspections on social insurance contributions, and participates in the development and completion of policies.
