Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications said that since the launch of the contest in June 2023, the contest has attracted the participation of more than 7,000 photo and video works. From there, the Organizing Committee has selected 28 works for awards and 70 photo works, 14 video works for exhibition.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized: "Each work is a unique perspective, a unique moment, an interesting story, a beauty, a reflection that life, that Heaven and Earth bestow upon humans, if not recorded at that exact moment, at that exact place, it will be lost. And if it is not recorded, it will be a loss.
The greatest strength is always the strength of the People. The greatest creativity is always the creativity of the People. The most powerful vitality is always the vitality of the People. 7,000 photos and videos of Vietnamese people across the country are vivid proof of the strength, creativity and vitality of the People."
“Happy Vietnam is not only a contest, not only a program but also a festival of Vietnamese people speaking up about their happy lives. That happiness appears in every house, every field, every village, every street. That happiness belongs to them because they themselves have created that happiness and they themselves speak up about that happiness,” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed.
From more than 7,000 entries, the Organizing Committee selected nearly 30 outstanding and outstanding entries to award prizes and 70 photos and 14 videos to display at the Exhibition.
Specifically, in the Photo and Photo Collection category, the first prize went to the work “Flying up Vietnam” by author Bui Cuong Quyet. The work is an image of athlete Chau Tuyet Van and teammates Hua Van Huy, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Hy, Tran Dang Khoa, Nguyen Thi Le Kim celebrating winning the gold medal in the first match of the Creative Team Taekwondo event at the 31st SEA Games on May 16, 2022.
Second and Third Prizes respectively went to the works “Skyscraper Shrouded in Clouds” by Catalin Chitu and “Abundant in red tangerines” by Hieu Minh Vu.
The most voted work award in the Photo Category, Photo Collection belongs to the work “Joy when working at TH” by author Luong Sy Phu. Along with that are 10 Encouragement prizes.
Owning the work "Team Chau Phi is proud of Vietnam" won the Encouragement Prize in the Category, author Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlog) said: "The name Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam impressed me a lot, because it is the desire and aspiration of every Vietnamese person. I chose to participate in the contest simply to share the feeling of pride in being Vietnamese. Wherever I am, wherever I go, I always try, ready to do everything to make Vietnam happy".
In the Video Category, 1 First Prize went to “Da Nang - City of Biodiversity” by Nguyen Thanh Paven. This is a short documentary about the amazing wildlife that thrives in the urban landscape of Da Nang. With excellent cinematography and inspiring storytelling, the film connects audiences with nature and highlights why urban biodiversity is important.
The works “Nha Trang, the sea calls” by author Vuong Manh Cuong and “Growing flax, weaving - traditional cultural identity of the Mong people” by author Le Tan Thanh won second and third prizes respectively.
The most voted work award in the Video category went to “Discovering a beautiful Hmong village in Hua Tat, Moc Chau District, Son La Province, Vietnam” by the group of authors Pham Mina and Mui Khanh Ly. Along with that were 10 consolation prizes.
