Dr. Nguyen Tien Manh - Head of the Jazz Department, Vietnam National Academy of Music, said that 100% of Jazz students have jobs before graduation. Some graduates, if they do not continue pursuing Jazz, can still switch to arranging Pop, Rock music... and are also very successful.
Sharing with the press on September 25, Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, said that although it is the youngest department of the academy, the Jazz department has made impressive progress. Before becoming an independent department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Jazz was a subject in the program. The establishment of an independent Jazz department has created one of the prestigious cradles training many Jazz artists in Vietnam.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the faculty, the academy organized the Jazz & Friends concert to express gratitude to the first generation, teachers and lecturers in training and research of the Vietnamese Jazz industry. The 5th Jazz & Friends also introduced to the public a generation of young Vietnamese Jazz artists and the integration of Vietnamese Jazz with the world.

The program is scheduled to be held on October 7 at the academy's large concert hall, gathering many Vietnamese Jazz talents such as: Quyen Thien Dac, Luong Xuan Thinh, Hoang Xuan Tung, Nguyen Tuan Nam... International artists participating in the program include: Professor Hakan Rydin (Sweden), Dr. Steve Barry, Damon Poppleton, Bernice Tesara, Cailey Soon, George Greenhill (Australia); 2 special guests are artists Nguyen Tuan Nam and Dao Kien.
According to the Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the program was planned more than a year ago. In the program, a number of international and Vietnamese Jazz works such as: Nostalgia, Moonlight in Vermont, Breezin, Inh lá ơi (Vietnamese folk song, arranged by Tran Luu Hoang), Feels Like Home (Nguyen Tuan Nam)... will be performed by Vietnamese and international Jazz artists. These are works that have been used in training levels and have been well received by domestic and international audiences for many years.
The organizers said that Jazz & friends will be recorded and broadcast on VTV1 and Hanoi Television.
