At the meeting, Mr. Vu Van Tien, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said that the fourth National Press Award for Anti-Corruption and Negativity in 2022-2023, jointly organized by the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television, was launched on November 13, 2021.
Through the success of three times of organization, the fourth National Press Award for Anti-Corruption and Negativity, 2022 - 2023 continues to promote the role of supervision and social criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; promote the role of the people and the mass media in the fight against corruption and negativity; encourage people and press agencies to reflect, denounce and actively fight against corruption, waste, negativity, degradation, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" within the organization.

Along with that, encourage the role of the press and recognize, motivate and reward journalists and press agencies with good quality press works in propaganda, fighting against corruption and negativity to contribute to enhancing the revolutionary spirit, fighting spirit and professional ethics, social responsibility and civic duty of the Vietnamese press in the fight against corruption and negativity. Praise and encourage good practices, good experiences, and advanced examples in the fight against corruption and negativity.
During the launching period, up to August 31, 2023, the Organizing Committee of the Award received 1,078 works, series of works including genres: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, television, radio from press agencies nationwide participating.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 4th National Anti-Corruption and Negativity Journalism Award acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the coordinating agencies, each member of the Steering Committee, and the Organizing Committee of the 4th National Anti-Corruption and Negativity Journalism Award, 2022-2023, thereby ensuring the implementation of the Award with quality and according to the set plan.
With that meaning, Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung suggested that the members of the Preliminary Council of the Fourth National Press Award for Anti-Corruption and Negativity, 2022-2023, with experience in the field of journalism and dedication to work, will promote a sense of responsibility to participate in the Preliminary judging according to the regulations and rules of the Award.
According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung, the Preliminary Council needs to closely follow the criteria in the Award's rules, in which the requirements for journalistic works participating in the Award must ensure authenticity, objectivity, accuracy, persuasiveness and high public opinion orientation, have a positive impact in serving the fight against corruption and negativity, and be published in all types of press; at the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to works that are discovery-based, new, and must demonstrate the contributions of reporters in the articles.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung also suggested that the Preliminary Council should pay attention to selecting works with the theme of fighting against corruption and negativity, focusing on articles that discover and condemn the degradation of political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; especially works that praise and encourage examples of detecting, denouncing, and fighting against corruption and negativity; focusing on works that present recommendations and solutions to contribute to improving the effectiveness of the work of preventing and fighting corruption and negativity in the current period.
Along with that, the Preliminary Council needs to consider and balance the selection of works made by reporters who are willing to go to remote areas, venture into dangerous places to investigate and report on prominent incidents in the localities in order to encourage and motivate the spirit and efforts of the authors.
Acknowledging the comments of the members of the Preliminary Council at the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung hoped that, with the large workload, the members of the Preliminary Council would promote a sense of responsibility, pay attention to exchanging and providing information to resolve problems, creating unity towards completing the preliminary evaluation time according to the set schedule.
