This morning, January 3, the Steering Committee for the Prevention and Combat of Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity of Quang Tri Province (Provincial Steering Committee) held its 11th meeting. Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee Nguyen Long Hai chaired the meeting. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee Nguyen Dang Quang; Deputy Heads and members of the Provincial Steering Committee attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee Nguyen Long Hai emphasized that this was the first meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee after the organization was reorganized and supplemented with additional functions and tasks under the new name of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity in accordance with the direction of the Central Government to promote the work of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness and negativity in the new situation.
This meeting will discuss and approve 5 important contents including: Report on the performance results of the Provincial Steering Committee in 2024, directions and tasks in 2025; Working regulations of the Provincial Steering Committee; Regulations on functions, tasks and powers of the Provincial Steering Committee to specify the regulations of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; Working program of the Provincial Steering Committee in 2025; Inspection and supervision program of the Provincial Steering Committee in 2025.
Therefore, the members of the Provincial Steering Committee based on the regulations on the authority and functions of their units to focus on discussing and contributing specific opinions, thereby determining the key tasks and directions of operation of the Provincial Steering Committee in 2025.
The report of the Provincial Steering Committee stated that in 2024, the Steering Committee promptly organized a conference to summarize activities in 2023, deploy tasks in 2024, and promptly issued a work program, inspection and supervision program for 2024 and assigned specific tasks to each member for implementation.
Accordingly, the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity in the province has been directed to be implemented synchronously and drastically in order to promptly and fully implement the resolutions, directives and regulations of the Central Government on preventing and combating corruption and negativity; to carry out well the work of information and propaganda, transparency in personnel work, and the coordination in performing tasks of relevant functional agencies on preventing and combating corruption and negativity has been increasingly tight and regular.
Along with that, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee successfully organized an online contest to learn about the book of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong "Resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity, contributing to building a clean and strong Party" attracting 68,699 accounts to register for the contest with 254,620 entries, of which 2,585 accounts registered with 13,634 entries from other localities across the country.
Advise the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to issue Regulation No. 1499 dated May 7, 2024 on criteria for determining and decentralizing monitoring and directing the handling of corruption and negative cases and incidents, along with many documents to lead, direct and organize the implementation of anti-corruption and negative work in line with the practical situation in the locality; conduct 1 inspection and 3 supervisions according to the inspection and supervision program of the Provincial Steering Committee in 2024 to ensure progress; conduct a complete and timely review of the Party's policies and the State's laws.
Provide good advice on contents serving the inspection delegation of the Central Steering Committee on leadership, direction, organization and implementation of coordination mechanisms to detect and handle corruption and negativity through inspection, audit, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments of the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee. Investigation of cases and incidents related to corruption and negativity is carried out resolutely and in accordance with the law.
The Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee - the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee, proactively and actively advises the Provincial Steering Committee to maintain regular meetings in accordance with regulations; develop and deploy, monitor and urge tasks according to the proposed work program, the content of the conclusion notices and periodic and ad hoc reporting work as required by the central government to ensure regulations.
Based on the suggestion of the Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee Nguyen Long Hai, the conference spent most of its time discussing and setting out key tasks for 2025. Therein, it directed the strengthening of inspection, supervision, and audit work, stepping up investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments, and timely and strict detection and handling of serious and complicated cases of public concern in general, and corruption, waste, and negativity cases in particular.
Proactively inform about the results of inspections, examinations, and handling of officials and party members who violate the law; about the prosecution, investigation, prosecution, and trial of corruption and economic cases; about sensitive issues of public concern in the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity, associated with promoting good people and good deeds and protecting, rewarding, and encouraging those who bravely fight against corruption, waste, and negativity to create a spread in the community.
