On the afternoon of November 30, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that over the past 11 months, agricultural, forestry and fishery exports have been strongly differentiated between sectors and products. The biggest bright spot is that rice and fruit and vegetable exports have continuously increased sharply for many months, but some key export sectors continue to decline sharply.
Fruit and vegetable exports in 11 months reached over 5.3 billion USD
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total export and import turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery products in 11 months is estimated at 85.13 billion USD, down 5.9% over the same period in 2022; trade surplus is 10.55 billion USD, up 33.7% over the same period in 2022.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recorded a number of industries with soaring export values. Specifically, fruit and vegetable exports reached 5.32 billion USD, up 74.5%; rice 4.41 billion USD, up 36.3%; cashew nuts 3.31 billion USD, up 17.4%. In particular, livestock products had an export value of 453 million USD, up 23.5%.
However, some key export industries continued to decrease sharply, such as the aquatic products group reaching only 8.24 billion USD, down 18.9%; forestry products reaching 13.02 billion USD, down 17%...
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that due to the sharp decrease in the value of some key export items, the total export turnover of the entire agricultural sector in 11 months is estimated at 47.84 billion USD, down 2.7% over the same period in 2022.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the past 11 months, China, the US and Japan continued to be the three largest export markets for agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam. Of which, the export value to China accounted for 23.2%; the US accounted for 20.6% and Japan accounted for 7.4%.
To achieve the agricultural, forestry and fishery export target of 54 billion USD, in the last month of the year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to handle market issues, create favorable conditions for exports, especially to the markets of China, the US, Europe... to boost the export of key products, and support businesses in signing new export orders.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to connect the consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products through the system of trade and agricultural counselors in other countries; coordinate to support the protection of trademarks and geographical indications for potential export products of Vietnam abroad.
