On the morning of March 30, at the National Children's Hospital, the Ministry of Health held a ceremony to announce and present the Decision of the Minister of Health on the appointment of the Director of the National Children's Hospital to Associate Professor, Doctor, Senior Lieutenant Tran Minh Dien - Party Committee Secretary, Deputy Director in charge of management and operation of the Hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Long, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Health congratulated Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien on being elected as the Director of the hospital. The Minister hoped that Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien and the hospital staff would promote the spirit of solidarity and unity, and encourage the hospital's staff and workers to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Health in the care work.

“We expect you to build the National Children's Hospital into a pediatric center in the region and the world, inheriting the previous achievements and contributions of teachers to build a more developed hospital. This is difficult, but if the collective unites, with the help of departments and branches, with the leadership of Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien, I believe we will have success in the future,” said the Minister.

In addition, the Minister requested the National Children's Hospital, as the leading pediatric hospital, to focus on developing a uniform pediatric network and improving service quality between regions, with special attention to the 28 mountainous provinces and remote areas. This is a relatively difficult task, but we can do it to create fairness in health care, especially in pediatrics.

“We hope that the new Director will consider patients, sick people, and children as the center of all services, improve service quality, create more conveniences for patients, and provide comprehensive care for children,” said the Minister.

Speaking on accepting the new assignment, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien expressed that this is an honor and pride but also a heavy task and responsibility that the Ministry of Health has entrusted. Over the years, with its position as a leading pediatric hospital, the hospital has made many advances in pediatric treatment science and technology, treating many difficult and complicated cases. The hospital has deployed many advanced techniques such as: kidney transplant, liver transplant, stem cell transplant, open heart surgery, epilepsy surgery, laboratory techniques, and diagnostic imaging have become routine techniques.
