On the morning of March 30, 2021, the Minister of Health announced and presented the Decision on the appointment of Director of the National Children's Hospital to Associate Professor - People's Physician Tran Minh Dien - Party Committee Secretary, Deputy Director in charge of hospital management and operations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long congratulated Associate Professor Tran Minh Dien on being elected as the Director of the Hospital and wished that the hospital would promote the spirit of solidarity and unity, and encourage the staff and workers of the Hospital to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Government, Party, State and Ministry of Health in the work of taking care of people's health.
The Minister of Health emphasized: “We expect the hospital's leadership to build the National Children's Hospital into a pediatric center in the region and the world, inheriting previous achievements and contributions to build a more developed hospital.”
In addition, the Minister of Health requested the National Children's Hospital, as the leading hospital in pediatrics, to focus on developing a uniform pediatric network and improving service quality between regions, with special attention to 28 mountainous provinces and remote areas. This is a relatively difficult task, but we can do it to create fairness in health care, especially in pediatrics.
“The new hospital director always determines to consider patients, sick people, and children as the center of all services, improve service quality, create more conveniences for patients, and provide comprehensive care for children,” the Minister of Health emphasized.
Associate Professor Tran Minh Dien shared that over the years, with its position as a leading pediatric hospital, the hospital has made many advances in pediatric treatment science and technology, treating many difficult and complicated cases. The hospital has deployed many advanced techniques such as: kidney transplant, liver transplant, stem cell transplant, open heart surgery, epilepsy surgery, laboratory techniques, and diagnostic imaging have become routine techniques.
With the Telehealth program, the hospital has connected more than 140 remote medical examination and treatment points, many serious and difficult cases have been consulted and saved in time. In addition, a number of specialized centers and departments have been established, creating the premise for the hospital to comprehensively and strongly upgrade, becoming a special-class hospital in the near future./.
