Many students and parents did not mind the long distance, traveling hundreds of kilometers at night to attend the Admissions and Career Counseling Day in Hanoi to directly listen to teachers answer questions about future majors and schools.

Missing the admissions consultation day at Maritime University, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hoan (Hai Phong) and her child went to Hanoi at 4am to receive consultation.

"Although my child's father wants me to study economics, I am different. I want to consult with my child about different majors and let him make his own choice," said Ms. Hoan.

Vu Trong Hai (Hoan's son) shared: "This year, the Ministry has changed the exam regulations, so I need to consider more to be able to be admitted to my favorite major. Besides, I will learn more about job opportunities for my chosen major after graduation."

Similarly, a group of 15 12th grade students from Yen Khanh B High School (Ninh Binh) proactively took a bus and traveled a long distance to Hanoi to receive counseling from early morning.

"When I heard that the consultation session was held on Sunday, I invited my classmates to join. There were 15 people in my group and everyone had their own questions about choosing a major. I was wondering about the Korean language major at Hanoi University," Trinh Thi Van shared.

Tran Quyet Chien, class 12A4, Quynh Coi High School (Thai Binh) and 7 other classmates came to get more specific advice about their majors. Chien said that he had previously taken the second round of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment test and scored 79/100 points and was likely to pass the school's automation major.

"I came here today to learn more about my major and the current job market," Chien shared.

Waiting in front of the school gate since 5am, Vu Khoi Nguyen, Hoang Quoc Viet High School (Quang Ninh) said he is currently confused about choosing a major because he has no early orientation. Therefore, he came here to receive direct advice from teachers and have his questions answered in choosing a major.

"I am applying for block A00 but have not yet decided on a major and school. Hopefully today I will have a clearer direction for the upcoming entrance exam," Nguyen said.

"The teachers give very detailed advice on majors and exam preparation plans"

Going with a group of 5 friends, Nguyen Dang Linh Huong, a 12th grade Japanese student at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted (Bac Giang) said she had to catch the bus early to attend the festival. Here, she received detailed advice from teachers about her major, foreign language requirements, and career orientation.

After consulting, my friends and I are very interested in National Economics University and Foreign Trade University because there are many majors with scholarships to study abroad and opportunities to study for a master's degree abroad.

"Teachers remind me to make a specific study plan and set step-by-step goals to be admitted to the school. Even though I have an advantage in foreign languages, teachers advise me to try to improve more to apply it well in my future studies. I was also added to social networking groups to receive advice from seniors, alumni, and teachers," Huong confided.

According to Canh, these are two difficult majors with high scores but many job opportunities, especially in foreign companies.

I was advised by my teachers to learn basic math knowledge because it will be beneficial for my future studies and research, and to learn more about the profession to nurture my passion and realize my dream. "The teachers gave me detailed advice about this year's quota and expected benchmark scores. After today, I will have a more specific review plan," Tuan Canh shared.
