Telecommunication Services Corporation (Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group - VNPT) and VTC Telecommunications Joint Stock Company, Department of Security Industry (Ministry of Public Security) have just signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation in the field of incident warning transmission in fire prevention and fighting.
According to VNPT, on the basis of the strategic and comprehensive cooperation agreement No. 46/TTHT-BCA-VNPT between the Ministry of Public Security and VNPT (signed on April 27, 2023), on April 9, in Hanoi, a memorandum of understanding was signed on digital transformation cooperation in the field of incident warning transmission in fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) between the Department of Security Industry (Ministry of Public Security) and the Telecommunication Services Corporation and VTC Telecommunications Joint Stock Company.
According to the content of the cooperation memorandum, the three units will promote the strengths of each party, jointly participate in promoting the application of IT and digital transformation in fire prevention and fighting work; support each other in communication activities, provide market information, research, production, build solutions, equipment applying new technology... in fire prevention and fighting work to agencies, organizations, businesses and people.
Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Thanh Trang, Director of the Department of Security Industry, highly appreciated the important role of VNPT Group in providing digital platforms, infrastructure solutions and technology to serve the digital transformation of ministries, branches, local authorities and enterprises. The Department of Security Industry hopes that VNPT will continue to promote its role as a leading digital technology enterprise to effectively support the work of transmitting incident warning messages and digital transformation of fire prevention and fighting.
Statistics show that in 2023, there were 3,440 fires nationwide, causing 255 casualties, property damage estimated at VND878 billion and 236 hectares of forest. In January 2024 alone, there were 376 fires, causing 6 casualties, nearly VND74 billion and 214.7 hectares of forest damage.
Although organizations, businesses and people have invested in equipping standard fire protection systems according to regulations as well as organizing personnel on duty to monitor, in order to prevent fires and explosions safely, they need smart, reliable solutions that help automatically monitor and promptly warn customers as well as immediately connect with the nearest fire protection force to handle incidents as quickly as possible, promptly ensuring the safety of people and property.
The application of digital technology in the field of early warning of fire and rescue will be a new turning point to minimize risks to people's lives and property, while bringing efficiency in preventing and stopping fires and explosions, and determining the cause of fires.
In the trend of actively applying modern technological achievements of the 4.0 industrial revolution, implementing the Government's digital transformation requirements, promoting the application of modern technology and digital transformation in early warning of fire and explosion is an urgent requirement. Thereby, improving the effectiveness of fire and explosion prevention and rescue work nationwide, contributing to minimizing damage caused by fires, explosions, incidents and accidents, ensuring people's lives and property.
