Speaking at the program, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu congratulated the success of the workshop and conference. At the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Spinal Association would continue to accompany and support the Khanh Hoa Provincial Health Department in developing the spinal specialty; thereby, allowing the province's medical staff to better perform the task of taking care of people's health.
With 23 lectures, research, and scientific reports presented at the workshop, the conference covered almost all major issues in the spine field, from the cervical spine to the lumbar spine, spinal diseases in adults and children, caused by trauma, deformity, degeneration, and cancer; modern treatment solutions, including surgical techniques and minimally invasive techniques. Specifically: Surgery to correct deformities of the cervical spine and the craniocervical spine; artificial disc replacement for degenerative cervical spine disease; new gold standard for interbody fusion of the vertebrae; positioning techniques in endoscopic spine surgery; minimally invasive spinal deformity surgery using two anterior and posterior approaches for adult spinal deformities; Previously (March 28), domestic and foreign experts and doctors transferred surgical techniques to 4 cases of complex spinal diseases right at the Provincial General Hospital using the following methods: Cervical spine reconstruction surgery using the Shiraishi method; thoracic spine decompression surgery; lumbar spine decompression surgery and tumor removal surgery.

This program with lectures, combined with technology transfer, has helped domestic and international delegates update the latest knowledge, share experiences, improve professional skills... in diagnosing and treating diseases related to the spine. Thereby, helping to improve health care for people in general and patients with spinal diseases in particular. At the same time, this is a stepping stone for Khanh Hoa General Hospital to promote the development of the spinal specialty when moving towards becoming a hospital in the South Central Coast region. It is known that in 2024, the Department of Spinal Surgery, Khanh Hoa General Hospital performed more than 980 surgeries and examined more than 8,940 patients.
