Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), from January 2024, the Music Department - Ho Chi Minh City Television Station will implement the project City of Love Songs , a program looking back at the development journey of Ho Chi Minh City through cultural and artistic works.

By June 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Television in collaboration with the Vietnam Musicians Association will organize a campaign to compose a song with the theme of Unification Song . The campaign demonstrates the feelings and responsibilities of musicians and artists on the journey of accompanying the nation and the country, bringing musical works to spread widely into life.

Not only stopping at the launching ceremony, the Vietnam Musicians Association also organized an online singing contest with the same theme as a way to spread the songwriting movement on the TikTok social platform. The contest lasted 6 months with nearly 1,000 contestants participating in the casting, nearly 200 live contests, 20 weekly contests, and 2 semi-final nights. On average, there were 1,500-2,000 live viewers, and each session helped the contest reach more than three hundred million viewers on the TikTok platform, with the proportion of young viewers reaching nearly 70%.

After more than a year of broadcasting with more than 30 programs and special guests, the Gala program City of Love Songs with the theme Song of Unity was held at HTV Television Theater, to summarize the meaningful journey, and at the same time to announce the results, honor and award prizes to excellent works, impressive music products and artists who have contributed to the musical life of Ho Chi Minh City.

During the program, a large audience enjoyed the following outstanding works: Spring in Ho Chi Minh City (composer: Xuan Hong), The City I Love (Hoang Hiep), Songs from the City Named After Him (music: Cao Viet Bach, lyrics: Cao Viet Bach - Dang Trung), Starry City Night (Tran Long An), City of Love and Nostalgia (poem: Nguyen Nhat Anh, music: Pham Minh Tuan), Distant Street (Le Quoc Thang), Street Love Song (Quoc Bao), Hello City (Chau Dang Khoa), Uncle Ho's City Sings to Celebrate the Heroic History of April 30 (Doan Chau Hai Quan), Love for My Vietnam (Le Dang Ve), Song of Unified Country (Van Thanh Nho), Hello 50 Years of the Radiant City Named After Him (Mai Tram)...

With the Unification Song composition campaign , after each month of broadcasting, the Organizing Committee organizes a vote on the HTV Music fanpage in 3 categories: Most Favorite MV, Most Favorite Song and Most Favorite Singer. From the highest results of each month, the Organizing Committee continues to organize a vote every quarter.

As a result, the Organizing Committee decided to award prizes for the following categories: Most Favorite Song - Spring in Ho Chi Minh City (Xuan Hong), Most Favorite MV - MV Full of Joy (Director Hoang Anh's team), Most Favorite Singer - People's Artist Ta Minh Tam.

The special award for outstanding work about Ho Chi Minh City belongs to the work "Uncle Ho 's City sings to celebrate the heroic history of April 30" (Doan Chau Hai Quan).

The campaign has no first prize. Two second prizes were awarded to the works:

My Love for Vietnam (Le Dang Viet) and Song of the Country unification (Van Thanh Nho).

5 third prizes were awarded to the works: New Homeland (Thuy Phuong), Glory of the Fatherland of Vietnam (Khanh Vinh), Nothing is more precious (Trinh Nguyen Binh), Oh Vietnam - let's beat our hearts together (music: Quang Thanh Giang, poetry: Cam Hien), With the Party guiding our way, we walk firmly (Ta Duy Tuan).
