VNPT: Strengthening cooperation for the common goal and mission of raising national status

On March 19, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNR Dang Sy Manh had a meeting and worked with the delegation of VNPT Group led by the General Director. Attending the meeting were General Director Hoang Gia Khanh, Deputy General Director Tran Anh Tuan, Office and departments of Planning and Business, Technology Management, Technical Infrastructure Management and Construction Investment Management.

At the beginning of the working session, Chairman Dang Sy Manh warmly welcomed and applauded the delegation of VNPT Group for visiting and working with Vietnam Railways Corporation. The Chairman of VNR said that in recent times, with the spirit of daring to think and dare to do, the Corporation has made efforts to implement many initiatives to increase revenue and build a renewed image of a dynamic, creative, self-reliant enterprise, ready for the important task of the country in the era of development. That is to focus on effectively exploiting the existing railway line while actively preparing to participate in the construction and acceptance of operation of new railway lines approved by the National Assembly such as the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Standard Gauge Railway, the North - South High-Speed ​​Railway, developing the railway industry in a modern direction, gradually becoming self-reliant.

Speaking at the meeting, VNPT General Director Huynh Quang Liem said that with the development strategy in the new era, along with the continuous development of the 4.0 industrial revolution, VNPT has been transforming itself, striving to become a dynamic economic group, focusing on developing innovative and breakthrough ICT products, services and solutions to continue creating quality products, contributing to the strong development of the Vietnamese economy. VNPT is ready to send its leading experts to advise and participate in digital transformation programs with VNR.

VNPT and VNR have many similarities and a network of units across the country, so promoting cooperation is an urgent task to take advantage and promote the strengths of both sides.

According to the report, in 2024, VNR's total passengers spent more than 50 million hours on the train, not including the time at the station. Therefore, there is a lot of room to develop additional value-added services. VNR and VNPT agreed to cooperate in implementing digital transformation projects such as entertainment programs, wifi on the train, integrating online ticket sales on VNPT's platform, etc. to improve customer experience.

In the future, the two sides will continue to accompany and share responsibilities in major national projects in the railway sector. It is necessary to participate and coordinate from an early stage because technology and infrastructure need to be synchronized, time to learn, research and develop, transfer and master technology, ensuring sustainable development and national security.
