Sharing with the Swiss business community in Vietnam, former German Vice Chancellor Philipp Rösler expressed great confidence that the investment environment in Vietnam will continue to improve.

On the afternoon of March 9, in Ho Chi Minh City, former German Vice Chancellor and currently Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Switzerland Philipp Rösler had a meeting and shared with representatives of Tuoi Tre newspaper about promoting media cooperation with European partners and investors.
At the meeting, journalist Tran Xuan Toan - deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper - expressed his desire to promote cooperation and share experiences in exchanging information between Tuoi Tre and investors from Switzerland and the European Union (EU), especially on the plan to build an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the representative of Tuoi Tre newspaper suggested that the former German vice chancellor connect the unit with investors from Switzerland and Europe who intend and wish to invest in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam.
Also during the meeting, Tuoi Tre newspaper invited Mr. Philipp Rösler and representatives of financial enterprises from Switzerland and Europe to share experiences within the framework of the Cashless Festival 2025, organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in coordination with other organizations, scheduled for June 14 and 15.
Mr. Rösler affirmed that Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, is still an attractive destination for many investors from Switzerland and Europe.
Therefore, searching for information related to investment and trade is a great need of many foreign and European investors and businesses.
On that basis, the Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Switzerland is willing to share and accompany Tuoi Tre newspaper with information in promoting cooperation between Swiss investors with Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam, as well as organizing promotion plans with the newspaper in the coming time.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 7, in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Philipp Rösler, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass and the Vietnamese and Swiss business communities had a meeting with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan.
The program was attended by representatives of leading Swiss and Vietnamese enterprises such as Nestlé, ABB, Bühler, Novartis, VinaCapital, FPT, PNJ...
Here, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and businesses had in-depth discussions to promote investment and trade exchange between the two countries in general and Ho Chi Minh City with Switzerland in particular.
Sharing at the meeting, Mr. Rösler had great expectations for Vietnam's development potential and international reach.
He affirmed: "I just had a meeting with the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the founders of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR). There, we discussed artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and data centers.
These are all topics that are also being discussed in big cities like Frankfurt, Berlin, London, Silicon Valley... Vietnam's economic and technological level has reached an admirable level."
Besides, the former German vice chancellor also shared that although Vietnamese and Swiss people are different in appearance, they are actually similar in thinking and spirit.
"Both people are hard-working, disciplined and have a high entrepreneurial spirit. Many people compare the Vietnamese to the 'Swiss' of the East Asian community. The Swiss and Vietnamese business communities are here to support the prosperous growth of Ho Chi Minh City and its people," the former German vice chancellor shared.
AI is the new driving force for development in Ho Chi Minh City
Speaking at the program, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc shared that Ho Chi Minh City is a large locality, the growth engine of Vietnam and has high expectations from Party and State leaders and the city's people.
Mr. Duoc affirmed that the new driving force for the development of Ho Chi Minh City is digital transformation, AI, semiconductors...
The Chairman of the City People's Committee shared: "These are very necessary new motivations that we are in the learning phase.
I hope that in this meeting, you will discuss and propose initiatives to help Ho Chi Minh City realize its development dream, especially in the field of financial center and digital transformation."
For his part, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass shared that last weekend, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to discuss with European Union (EU) businesses and EU investors in Vietnam.
At this conference, the Prime Minister emphasized the desire to make Vietnam a connecting point and pillar of strength for the world.
Mr. Gass affirmed: "In today's meeting, we have pioneers, captains who can help us move towards the development vision mentioned by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Swiss businesses here are all the best, able to contribute to Vietnam's explosive economic development."

Philipp Rösler was born in Vietnam and adopted by a German family as a child. He is Germany's first vice-chancellor of Asian descent.
