Vietnam attends Asia's largest defense exhibition

At the invitation of the Singapore Ministry of Defense, a delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, attended the 9th Singapore Airshow in Singapore from February 20 to 25.

At the exhibition, the delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony; visited the booths and product display areas of a number of large enterprises and corporations in the world; watched flight demonstrations performed by the Air Forces of Singapore, India, the United States, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Australia and a number of international civil airlines. Within the framework of the exhibition, the delegation had meetings with a number of partners to discuss issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting with Mr. Daniel Blazkovec - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son thanked the people of Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) for their valuable support for Vietnam's struggle for national independence and nation building. He was pleased with the outstanding results of defense cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in recent times, and hoped that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation in the coming time in many fields such as delegation exchanges, training, etc.

At the meeting with US Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Andrew Hunter, the head of the Vietnamese delegation assessed that the relationship between the two countries has continued to develop well in recent times, in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation and Sustainable Development. Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son suggested that in the coming time, the two sides should strengthen cooperation on the basis of signed documents, prioritizing cooperation in training, search and rescue, military medicine, participation in the United Nations peacekeeping force, and overcoming the consequences of war in Vietnam...

Also at the bilateral meetings and contacts with countries and partners, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son thanked the Ministries of National Defense and the armies of the countries for sending high-ranking delegations to attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022. He hoped that the Ministries of National Defense, armies, and defense enterprises of the countries would continue to support and attend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

Singapore Airshow is the largest defense exhibition in Asia, held every two years. According to the Organizing Committee, more than 900 enterprises and units from 45 countries and territories participated in the exhibition.
