On the morning of December 21, tens of thousands of people living in Hanoi and neighboring provinces such as Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, etc. flocked to Gia Lam airport area (Long Bien district, Hanoi) to visit the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
At 10am, at the booths of the US, Russia and Vietnam displaying planes, missiles, tanks, etc., tens of thousands of people lined up to visit.
The area displaying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attracts the attention of many visitors.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh (left, residing in Long Bien, Hanoi) brought her son to visit the exhibition. “The children really liked seeing modern weapons, especially the area displaying missiles and tanks,” Ms. Binh shared.
This morning, there were many "beautiful women" who were passionate about weapons visiting the exhibition.
Nguyen Phuong Thao (standing in the middle, 22 years old, residing in Long Bien district, Hanoi) and her friends take a souvenir photo at the exhibition. Coming to this exhibition, Thao is especially interested in drones and missiles.
“Since I was a child, I have had a special passion for missiles, especially air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, anti-ballistic missiles, anti-satellite missiles, etc. Through the exhibition, I was able to freely admire and learn about missiles and drones,” Thao confided.
Women enjoyed taking pictures with foreign soldiers and modern weapons displayed in the yard.
Nguyen Khanh Linh (21 years old, from Ha Giang) and her friend went from Ha Dong to Gia Lam airport at 6am. After a tour of the weapons at the outdoor exhibition area, Khanh Linh and her friend were extremely excited.
“There are many modern weapons on display here that I have only seen in movies. Seeing and even touching the weapons makes me very excited and curious,” Khanh Linh shared.
The display area of the American “workhorse” C-130J attracts many tourists to visit and take photos with the pilots. The C-130J aircraft is 29.8m long, has a wingspan of 40.4m, is 11.6m high, weighs 34 tons empty, has a maximum takeoff weight of 70 tons, and has a cargo capacity of 20 tons. The cargo compartment is 16m long, 3m wide, and 2.7m high.
From 9:30 am, the indoor sightseeing area is always packed with visitors.
According to information from the organizers, the exhibition area has a total area of over 100,000m2 with an indoor display area of 15,000m2 (double that of the 2022 exhibition) and an outdoor area of over 20,000m2. In particular, the outdoor viewing area is arranged in an L-shape including heavy weapons, air defense systems and equipment - air force, army, navy such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, information command vehicles, anti-aircraft artillery.
People were excited to take pictures with foreign female soldiers. At the pistol display area, visitors could try holding and removing the ammunition tray, so it was always crowded.
The area displaying high-tech technical equipment, aircraft models, and UAVs attracts many visitors.
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is open until December 22. People come to the gate and use the QR code they registered to visit via the website in advance. The exhibition opens to the public from 9:00 to 17:00 on December 21 and from 9:00 to 15:00 on December 22.
