TheASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting took place on September 4, ahead of the 43rd ASEAN Summit (43 ASEAN Summit) and related summits.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation will attend the conference from September 4 to 7 at the invitation of President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Chair of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Do Hung Viet led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
It is expected that at the 43rd Summit, ASEAN will assess the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and master plans on the three pillars of politics-security, economy and culture-society; and orient ASEAN's development strategy in the next 20 years.
In her opening remarks, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi mentioned the challenges of the region and called on countries to cooperate to ensure the success of the conference. At 10:30 a.m. (local time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.
