Vietnam rejects the accusations of the Khmer Kampuchea Krom organization, affirming that Khmer people are treated equally and given conditions for development in all aspects.
"The Khmer people are an inseparable part of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, living together in equality and harmony, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense throughout the country's history," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on August 31 in response to a reporter's question about Vietnam's response to the Khmer Kampuchea Krom organization's fabricated accusations about the situation of the Khmer people in Vietnam.

According to the Propaganda magazine of the Central Propaganda Department, hostile forces have recently connected and enticed a number of bad elements to join the Kampuchea Khmer Krom group, carrying out anti-state activities in many areas, especially ethnicity and religion in Tra Vinh.
These subjects took advantage of the demolition of the welcome gate of Tra Vinh province due to severe damage, causing danger to traffic participants; the failure to include ethnicity and religion in citizen identification cards; as well as fabricating information that the government did not allow people to organize folk games on the occasion of Chol Thnam Thmay festival in 2023 to make a distorted argument that "the Vietnamese government wants to abandon Khmer culture" and wants to implement the policy of "assimilating the Khmer people".
To attract and incite many people to join the group, bad elements publicly propagated completely fabricated and distorted documents and content about ethnic and religious issues in the Southwest region with slanderous and distorted arguments that the Kinh people discriminated against and oppressed the Khmer people, and that the basic rights of the Khmer people were greatly restricted.
Affirming that the information provided by the Khmer Kampuchea Krom organization is baseless and untrue, Ms. Hang said that all Vietnamese ethnic groups are treated equally, guaranteed and facilitated by the State to develop in all aspects to continuously improve their material and spiritual lives.
