SJC gold decreased by another 1 million VND/tael in the afternoon.

After falling to around 74 million VND/tael this morning, SJC gold continued to fall by another 500,000 VND - 1 million VND/tael on the afternoon of January 8. Some businesses listed selling prices below 74 million VND/tael.

At around 4 p.m. in Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quy Group traded SJC gold at 71.15 million VND/tael for buying and 73.95 million VND/tael for selling, down 1 million VND for buying and 500,000 VND for selling compared to the morning, a total decrease of 1.05 million VND for buying and 750,000 VND for selling compared to yesterday. At the same time in Hanoi, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company also reduced 500,000 VND for both buying and selling compared to the morning, listed at 71.2 million VND/tael for buying and 73.9 million VND/tael for selling; a total decrease of 1.1 million VND for buying and 800,000 VND for selling compared to the previous day.

Only SJC and PNJ still maintain the mark of 74 million VND/tael. Specifically, SJC also reduced 1 million VND for both buying and selling compared to the previous day, down to 71 million VND/tael for buying and 74 million VND/tael for selling. PNJ also reduced 500,000 VND for buying and 600,000 VND for selling compared to the previous day, trading at 72 million VND/tael for buying and 74.6 million VND/tael for selling.

The price of 9999 gold was also adjusted slightly lower by gold trading enterprises compared to this morning. Specifically, SJC Company listed it at 61.9 million VND/tael for buying and 63.05 million VND/tael for selling, down 50,000 VND for both buying and selling. Similarly, Mi Hong gold shop (Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City) also listed the price of 9999 gold rings at 61.4 million VND/tael for buying and 62.2 million VND/tael for selling, down 10,000 VND for buying and 30,000 VND for selling.

On the world gold market, the spot gold price on Kitco on the afternoon of January 8 (Vietnam time) was trading at 2,028.65 USD/ounce, down 15 USD compared to this morning. This price after conversion is equivalent to 59.9 million VND/tael, 14.7 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold and 3.15 million VND/tael lower than 9999 gold.
