At 9:30 a.m., gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau were traded at 98.8 - 100.6 million VND/tael (buy - sell), with an increase of 1,200,000 VND/tael for buying and 900,000 VND/tael for selling compared to the previous session.
At DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group Joint Stock Company, plain round gold rings fluctuate around 98.4 - 100.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, Phu Quy Gold Investment Joint Stock Company listed gold rings at 98.5 - 100.5 million VND/tael.
The difference between the buying and selling prices of domestic gold rings remains high, around VND2 million/tael, increasing the risk of short-term losses for investors.
At Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC), the price of SJC gold bars was listed at VND98.4 - 100.4 million/tael (buy - sell), recording an increase of VND1,000,000/tael for buying and VND1,500,000/tael for selling compared to the previous day.
On the morning of March 28, Vietnam time, the world gold price reached 3,077 USD/Ounce, an increase of more than 50 USD/Ounce within 24 hours, marking the highest level in the history of gold trading.
However, domestic gold prices still maintain a gap of about 5 million VND/tael higher than world gold prices.
According to financial experts, the current movement of domestic gold prices closely reflects the trend of the world market. The increase of the precious metal continues to be driven by the psychology of seeking safe havens in the face of escalating global trade tensions and strong stock market fluctuations following the decision to impose new car taxes by US President Donald Trump.
In addition, investors are focusing on waiting for US personal consumption spending data, scheduled to be released today, to get more information about the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) interest rate policy direction.
Experts also recommend that gold buyers carefully monitor market developments before making a decision, because the difference between buying and selling prices is still high, creating risks for buyers. At the same time, when gold demand increases but supply is limited, the possibility of scams and fake gold sales for profit is something to be aware of.
