Participating in the 2023 Vietnamese Goods Week in France this time is a delegation of 16 Vietnamese enterprises, not only in the fields of agricultural products and food, but also in rattan and textiles, bringing their unique products to display and promote directly to French consumers.

During the goods week event, Vietnamese enterprises are also directly connected with the purchasing departments of both the local distribution system and the Asian distribution system in France. This is an effort of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in supporting Vietnamese enterprises to access the market.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai highly appreciated the initiative of the Système U system in organizing the Vietnam Goods Week 2023 event to expand the promotion of Vietnamese products to consumers of the Super U supermarket system.

According to Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai, this is an event that is not only of special importance to Vietnamese enterprises, but also paves the way for the Système U distribution system to develop the market segment for consumers who prefer Asian products.

" We will gradually, step by step, affirm our position in these corporations, in this supermarket system and continue to expand further. We really hope that Vietnamese enterprises will continue to accompany us, first of all with the quality of their own goods, and secondly, by complying with the strict regulations of the countries we export to " - Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai emphasized.

Representatives of System U Group and representatives of the local authorities of Noisiel and Lognes also said that Vietnamese cuisine has increasingly created sympathy in France. The presence of Vietnamese goods in System U supermarkets helps the system have a more abundant supply of goods, especially helping customers in suburban residential areas of big cities have the opportunity to access Vietnamese cuisine and culture.

Mr. Dominique Schelcher, General Director of Système U System, said that in recent years, goods from Asian countries have been particularly developed. “ We organize this event to promote our stores, our products and our good relationship with Vietnam,” said Mr. Dominique Schelcher.

Vietnamese Goods Week at System U supermarket chain with the appearance of 16 Vietnamese enterprises as well as new products is expected to open up a new opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises in their desire to approach the European market and especially the French market, a market that is increasingly tending to consume Asian goods, becoming a living culture, a lifestyle, a new trend.

Mr. Benoit Monfort, CEO of Super U supermarket in Noisiel city, said: We are ready to accompany Vietnamese products to reach French consumers, because the products displayed at the booths of this year's Vietnamese Goods Week are all guaranteed to be of high quality as well as meet the supply quantity.

According to statistics from experts, the demand for Asian food in distribution systems in France reaches 650 million USD. Although the market share of Vietnamese goods in the Système U system is not large, this is an important step for Vietnamese goods to access this distribution channel.

France is Vietnam's fourth largest trading partner in the European Union. In particular, the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) coming into effect from August 1, 2020 is a boost for Vietnamese goods to enter the French and EU markets. At the same time, this is also a favorable condition for consumers in the Système U system in France in particular and in Europe in general to have the opportunity to access diverse, quality Vietnamese goods at reasonable prices.
